Pity you are largely locked into their cloud or app system.

      Micro SD Card Slot
HTTPS, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP, UPNP, RTSP…
      also supports ONVIF…
      Suuuure buddy

      • Can I confirm these can be used on wifi only? Or is it that they only support that through some third party software like Zoneminder or Blue Iris?

      • +1

This is the E1, not E1 Pro that support RTSP. I bought one in a previous deal and regretted it since I can't connect it to HomeAssistant.

  • Do they also have outdoor versions?

    • +2

They do, they have Netgear Arlo knockoffs which run off a battery and can be topped off with solar panels.

Thanks… I'm looking for a POE one that is also compatible with my QNAP NAS.

ALL of their camera are compatible it seems. For a list of their PoE:

          • @Bigboomboom: Wow, they are cheap.

            Are they any good though?

Not all the models seem to be listed in the QNAP site though.

@jv: They are O.K as a brand. Definitely better than the cheapo Xiaomi or FHD Wifi ones spam on here every other day. It is however, not going to be as good as Arlo Pro, Eufy, Nest or Ring etc. Their video recording HDR is a bit lacking (works alright but don't expect quality like the expensive brand, expect more high light blown out etc.) and motion detection software based is not the best.

Let's just say they are approx 75% of the expensive brand at 1/2 of the price. They also support Google Home so you can stream via Smart Display or Chromecast. I have 2 PoE (RLC-410, RLC-420, Arlo Pro 2 and C1 Pro). The issue with more expensive brands is that they usually don't support PoE unless the more professional one like Dahua.

              • @Bigboomboom: thanks… i'll look into them a bit more.

@jv: Btw the prior link price is in USD, so no, they are not the cheapest. There are tons of super cheap camera but I would stay away from them. If you are serious, better stick with the professional one. But given I get my 4 camera at the price of one of the beefy Dahua camera, well there you go.

@jv: High recommend the Argus Eco out door camera. Better quality (1080P) than my Arlo Pro 2.

Only slight annoying thing is the inital sensitivity as its very hit and miss. After a while you can adjust it to make it work for the area.

For the price they are it makes them well worth it for value / quality.

@jv: if you haven't already, check out Lifehackster on YouTube. I'm preparing to buy security cameras soon and found this guy reviews many of them. I'm leaning toward Eufy at the moment but the specific model I want isn't available in Australia yet.

                  • @Click_It:

                    1 charge = 1 year…

WT !!! Do they use nuclear power?

  • No Argus cameras?

  • Awesome camera for the price. Nice little phone app supports monitoring live footage and 'push talk'.
Desktop app is also good that I have 3 of these cameras within the ecosystem.
Links in with Synology Surveillance also.

  • I’ve got an argus 2 with the solar panel that was about $75 when it was on sale. It’s pretty reliable, the only downside is that it’s a bit laggy in terms of fps - otherwise its on the money.

    • Is that 75 AUD for the camera and panel? Bargain!

Do you have to put the panel in direct sunlight? About to set mine up but unsure about location.

      • $72USD I just checked. It was about $105 AUD.

Yep direct sunlight. The battery has stayed at 100% since going up. My house faces north so it was easy to position, just make sure you’re adjusting for winter sun position too if you’re in the southern states.

  • Are the IR lights when in night vision visible?

I have another camera and when in night vision you can see bright red lights from the camera.

Also, can you access single snapshots over wifi, something like this: http://ip address:port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=admin&pwd=xxx

    • Yes the IR lights are visible when on.

      • Anyone know the which cheapish brands don't.

  • Got an Argus 2 with solar panel and it's been pretty good so far. I'm waiting for the E1 pro to go on sale to use it as a baby monitor.
