Hi everyone, Need some help with understanding how this company was able to obtain my personal company details via my personal work email at my second job. (There is no link between my company and my second job) and the email is only used to sign up to a few services. At my second workplace, I made an office365 distribution mailing list which contained some of my other emails for testing purposes before deploying settings to other distribution lists.
The question is how was this company able to find the distribution list without being in the organization? Note: this distribution list is set to public, but you would still need to know the group email to send stuff to.
Some possibilities of the company finding out my business are by looking at my LinkedIn page which lists my company and the company name of my second workplace. But then they could’ve just used the email provided in my BIO. Also if they were to find out details about my second job the domain name of the googled business name is different to the emails domain name.
The only services I’ve signed up for using my second job work email are:
• Tidal
• Spotify
• My Deals
• Mail Chimp
• Monday.com
• Deputy
• Kogan
• GitHub
The company that sent me the stuff does have an ABN and the images of the staff are not stock photos but the website is poorly made. Not responsive, Pictures are like 40px high for the BG and there is a bunch of margins which consist of white space.
Probably domain name or abn.
but i dont understand your story fully.
