Will the RAM be Compatible in this PC Build?

Will this RAM be alright with this Mobo and CPU pair? Will be using all my existing parts.

building what? house? family? cafe? company? oh… a PC

  • Stick into one of the umpteen websites that check compatibility(scorptec springs to mind)? Can't see any reason it won't btw.
Existing parts? Like PSU? Check that out with age and voltage on another calculator site also. And I hope to high hell your not bottle necking on an old SDD and have at least an M.2 that's being utilised.

    • Fair point, the SSD is sata. The PSU is from 2013 but 520W 80+ bronze which should be enough.

      • Should be, could be worth running it on a PSU calculator just for sanity, time degrades parts, caps. ect. Some calculators factor this, I like to be meticulous personally, but haven't done a solid build since about 2015… mainly haven't needed too.

  • Motherboard: Supports DDR4 Memory, up to 4133(OC) MHz
CPU: Ryzen 3000 chips officially support dual-channel DDR4-3200

Doesn't mean much, previous Ryzen generations all said this and had significant problems with RAM.

For example I have a first gen Threadripper and it doesn't work with half the RAM I own including stuff on the motherboard QVL list.

Supposedly a lot of these issues have been ironed out with the third generation Ryzen.

AMD comes with caveats that Intel doesn't suffer from.

Should be perfectly fine. GSkill's Flare series RAM is supposedly designed specifically for Ryzen systems, so compatibility should be increased over any normal kit of RAM.

And in response to your PSU being a 520w from 2013, 520w should be adequate but keep in mind that as items age they are more likely to not perform as they once did, and/or risk of failure is more likely. 500w or more is definitely all you need for this configuration though.

  • Yep should work fine.

Ryzen 3000 has a much better memory controller than 1000 and 2000 so it'll work fine.
You could even overclock your sticks to 3600MHz 16-19-19 (assuming they're CJR) without much issue.

  • you can use pcpartpicker to see if its compatible.
