Hi
looking to subscribe for a 24/7 roadside assistance, need it as I will go an a 6 months road trip around OZ.
Which one do you think is best?
Thanks!
360 Roadside Assistance
If you are driving that many kms over 6 months the best would be NRMA RACQ RACV depending on your state. You also might consider going the next tier from basic.
i ll be driving a campervan.
as i saw on many forums many people are saying NRMA are very expensive for the service they provide.
Yes they are, but you will be driving around for 6 months not just around the cities. In woop woop, cheap roadside assistance has either a 3rd rate contract with roadside assistance contractors or no contract.
so you think the best one to pick is NRMA ?
Might as well pay the bit extra for a premium service if you are travelling into the outback, especially if the vehicle is older. Maybe not so necessary for a relatively new vehicle.
I have NRMA for my wife’s car, which is also our holiday car. My ute that lives around town has nothing.
Some other companies offering roadside assist include:
Standalone roadside assistance organisations including "24/7 Roadservices" and "365 Roadside Assistance".
App-based assistance providers such as "gotU" and "Road Angels".
Some vehicle manufacturers offer roadside assistance cover if your car is regularly maintained at an authorised service centre. E.g. MyCar (formally Kmart tyre and auto)
Otherwise Woolworths Roadside assistance, then you'll get 10% off groceries per month (attached to Woolworth rewards card) to use at any point in the month, once. If you spend enough, the roadside assistance will pay for itself. Always read the T&Cs of any policy though.
What car have you got for your travels?
