Agreed. I've tried a good half a dozen of the popular creams that make claims of helping with skin conditions and while they provide some moisture and temporary relief from the pain/discomfort, they aren't going to make dry, cracked, bleeding hands go away.
I've had success with a good steroid cream (see your doctor) and a decent moisturizing cream for "maintenance". Dermatologists seem to have a strong opinion in favour of the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula cream. It's pretty affordable and you don't need to use that much of it. Add this with the price of a steroid cream and it works out very affordable. Deal with the problem by hitting it hard and fast, then keep moisturised to prevent recurrence.
