Recommendations for a 55" or 60" 4K Smart TV

I was in the market to purchase a new TV as my previous 4-year old one has dead pixels appearing across the screen and it'll cost around $2000 to repair the damage, which I see no point in doing.

So I'm looking for a 55" or 60" 4K Smart TV, preferably Samsung or Sony. But I'm not sure what type of TV would be best for my price range ($1000-$1500), either OLED, QLED or just UHD.

Also just wondering if there's any point purchasing Extended Warranty from the retailer?

Any recommendations would be great, cheers.

      I'm assuming I'd need proof of purchase? Which sadly I don't have, even after contacting the retailer to see if my purchase is in their system.

    OLED is not in your price range. Hit the jbhifi or good guys website and start putting in your filters for brands and price range. That’ll give you a good starting point for model numbers and start your research from there. Then search those models in ozbargain to get a feel for bargain pricing.
