  • Thanks man.
    I'm a ladder noob.
Would this thing get me up to a 2nd story roof safely?

    • Absolutely, unless your roof is raised.

Possibly. Remember that the ladder needs to extend a bit above the gutter line when its in place.

You don't want to be scrambling off the ladder onto the roof, or vice-versa.

You want to be able to step off the ladder and on to the roof. Two stories up is a loooong way up, and you want to make sure it's quite safe.

      • This. I heard 24' is the one to get but having trouble locating one that's good 😑

    • I'd personally recommend a Aluminium equivalent. They are lighter and can hold more weight and can be left out in the weather if you don't have room to store one indoors PLUS they are cheaper 😁

  • I'm a ladder noob too, but I'm also an ozbargainer. If I get want to get a good ladder at a great price am I better off going for another brand and or buying it somewhere else? Pretty much the only reason I want to do this is so I can convince the old man to get rid of his old dodgy ladder. Maybe if I just get another good ladder I can just throw his away anyway.

    • Good luck. If your old man is like mine, he will hoard his old ladder and give you a lecture in a full on wog accent

Even after seeing some others around him fall off and end up in hospital he refuses to throw his away. We even have another one but he reckons it's too heavy and he goes back to using his old dodgy one. It actually has a piece of wood screwed into the aluminium frame as it has buckled and failed on him once already. I think he fell off when it happened too. My parents are hoarders. Not quite bad enough for their own tv show, but it's pretty bad.

Sounds like my dad to a tee. I hate going to my folks house they hoard everything and gives me stress navigating around

Why is my dad hoarding old engine oil in containers in drums? Why does he keep buying crap that is never unpacked from boxes just because it was an Aldi Special Buy?

          • @Lucille Bluth: I hate buying stuff for them too. I bought my dad some nice headphones once. He kept using his old ones until they completely fell apart. Meanwhile he kept the nice new ones in the hottest possible place in the house where direct sunlight hit them through the gaps in the blinds everyday for a few years. When he finally got around to using them the wires had melted or decayed away at nice even intervals all the way from the headphones to the jack. He went around to different cheapo shops looking for some headphones to replace the the cables. Don't know how long he spent doing all that. In the end he just threw them away.

          • @Lucille Bluth: Haha, he likes to buy stuff on clearance. Not just one for himself though. He needs to buy 3 or 4. One for each of the family and a spare or two. All junk and all ends up in landfill. Although it's not in landfill just yet. Nope, that's my inheritance. All this stuff is sitting unused on a couch they refuse to throw away but haven't sat on for what 20 years.

            • @ozbs25: When I moved into my new home they ran out of room so I was forced to inherit all this is old furniture and junk. They have basically given me all this stuff because they don't have room.

Everytime I come over they give me shopping bags or boxes full of more junk.

They have oversized furniture that doesn't fit rooms properly, a treadmill blocking the hallway with bags and caps hanging off the handles.

Rolls of rugs brand new against walls.

So much crap with price tags still attached.

Their walking wardrobe you can't even walk in. Piles of clothes on floor.

They keep going to trash and treasure markets to buy even more crap.

They come from that generation where they didn't have much so now they hoard everything. It's never ending and I hate going to their place. My mum doesn't have a good knee it's dangerous.

              • @Lucille Bluth: Yes, my parents grew up very poor so I'm sure that's part of it. He is also getting old so he's pretty much like a child in some ways. Like my neice, when he goes out to the shops he has to come home with something. Because he's such a tight arse he doesn't buy anything that's expensive. It's just some random junk. He went through a DVD buying phase. He's got like 3 or 4 copies of the one DVD because he's never gotten around to watching any of them and he has forgotten what he has bought. All of them are still in the plastic. He's moved onto youtube videos now which is maybe better?? I went over to help him with another external hard drive. He has lots of them. When I was trying to work out his cables I found another external drive on the floor still with the shrink wrap on. He had forgotten he bought another 6TB drive.

            • @ozbs25: Thanks for these comments. I can relate. My dad hoards everything. He hasn't parked either car in his double lock up garage for decades because there is too much shit in the garage. His spare room would make a great computer room but it's literally filled with shit. I told him he could get an external screen for a computer if he just cleaned the computer room. But no, he bought this monstrous (profanity) Toshiba laptop with a 17 inch screen and every time he wants to use it, almost every day, he lugs it out to the dining room so he can watch fishing shows on YouTube and my Kayo subscription, which of course is his first foray into monthly subscriptions since I managed to convince him to get the internet. (and he's not paying for it). I think it's because they didn't have much growing up. His brother is similar.

              • @b2dz: While their place isn't completely full it's just random stuff in weird places. They don't have anywhere to keep stuff so they just put it in the lounge or living room. There are mountain bikes inside. One in the living room, one in the lounge room. They have this really nice leather lounge suite but they found it uncomfortable, so they just bought some cheap chairs and put them in front of the the sofa. Sofas have probably been sat in a handful of times over the last 15 or more years.

  • Does anyone know if this one included in the promotion?
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/gorilla-120kg-mighty-15-multi-pu…

    • Hmm not sure if that's part of the industrial range. Maybe not.

      • Description says "Gorilla Mighty 15 Multipurpose Ladder, 120kg Industrial" so I"m hoping it is.

    • I have one if you want to buy it. Located 2258.

      • What size is it Squabo and how much do you want for it? I couldn't find any direct message option, does one exist?

    • Yes it is, $255 PowerPass price before trade in

  • Guys Ladder noob here.I need a ladder to clean gutters and fix light bulbs externally if any. Which type is the best? The base around my home varies some short some high. Is a straight up regular ladder ideal? How abt Aframe or a 3/4 step ladder that has a 4 leg base. Also are Aldi workzone ladders reliable?

  • Bought this ladder today. No dramas. They reduced the price by $50 without a fuss.
