It is the extreme small package the tomtop one folds into that appeals. This is great for keeping under my Motorcycle seat just in case I need to pick something up from the shops on the way home.

        Good point

      • +2

Picked a couple up last time this was posted for this exact reason. They get the job done and saves me having to carry around an empty regular pack 'IN CASE' i need to cart something back home.

I did a review on the Naturehike version of this bag. Seems to be the same bag just rebranded

Good job on the review. Handy light bag suitable for specific needs.

Thanks, yeah I think its pretty good especially for the price

  • I just bought this, but worried i may have just purchased a rain cover for a back pack? Has to be false advertising if i have

    https://m.tomtop.com/p-y2582b.html

    • +1

In Product Description it states it is a rain cover - for a pack.

      • Yeah, yet the title listing says backpack, as do the pictures. I even selected the color Of the backpack. Bit confusing, I've just emailed customer support.

        • +1

I almost fell for that too. Looked at that product because of low price.

In images it states For 40L -50L backpack. Images are of cover on a backpack. I'm used to pack covers, so realised it straight away.

Got a cover in a 1c Deal - ordered first! Realised later it wasn't a pack. Luckily it fits my standard travel day pack.

  • I bought this one from aliexpress on 9th of Jan.

As I was tracking the package,
it says Package rejected, unable to ship by air.

i have a similar one to these that I carry in my bag. They are good for when you buy something you weren’t expecting to, hello bargain.

  • +2

For any ozbargainers wanting one, looked for the same one cheaper and maybe found it.

  • Anyone actually weighed this bag? Lots of varieties on Ali with and without extra pockets and zips and they all claim to weigh 85g. And it can't be 20L at those measurements, maybe 15L max. I can't see it will replace my 68gm, 20L, 20kg+ load, fit-in-your-palm Sea to Summit but, hey, for the price I'll give it a try.

    • Noticed that. My guess is they copy specs from a better known product.

      Your $28 bag?
Won an award & good reviews!
won the Backpacker Editors' Choice Gold Award in 2017, meaning this little pack has stood the test of time and sustained its best-in-class status for more than 5 years.
      Maybe next time.
But why would you want to downgrade to these??

      Depends a lot on quality.
I bought a few light bags like this at a PoundLand (1£) store while on holidays in UK a decade ago. Some failed & took back, a couple lasted but failed in a fairly short time if loaded with a few groceries (fabric ripped, stitching failed), still have 1.

As others have commented - ok for clothes, snacks, etc. But certainly not 25Kg load! Given these are not padded - adding much weight would be painful for your back & shoulders.

Grabbed a $2.29 bag incl delivery to throw in day pack I use for carry-on only overseas trips. A spare light bag can be handy. Will grab a Sea to Summit next, when this fails!

      • +1

Yep, that's my bag, except I have the earlier model. It must be at least six years old now and still going strong. It's also not comfortable for long with more than a few kg, but it can easily handle a heavy shopping load if needed, like a bottleshop run.

I don't want to downgrade, I just like new gear. This one is cheap and has extra pockets which might be handy, but you talked me out of it if they're unreliable.

        • You talked me into an upgrade (in the future), after reading the reviews😉

As was suggested in the Review, it depends on your packing. A padded item of clothing at the back of the pack followed by something solid should give some support & protection.

Those PoundLand backpacks were as flimsy as could be made. I expect these cheapies to be far better.
Not much worse than being out on a hike & find your bag has dropped its contents along the track!

I've used my little bag as my day pack around Europe and for hiking, but while these superlight folding packs are fine for 2-3 kg loads, for anything heavier I find I need a pack with a decent hip belt for support. But they are fantastic backups and shopping bags, and I use them all the time, at home, when travelling, overnight hiking (as a side trip/storage bag in my main pack) and I've also got a waterproof one that resides on my bike. I love em. Maybe I will get another one.
