Applied for a live connect plan recently, and i received an email 3 minutes after my confirmation email saying that i haven't passed their credit check criteria.
I find this very odd that the only thing i have that is even close to being 'credit' related is a debit mastercard, that has never run into a debit balance. No loans or anything.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I have requested a credit check to see what is going on.
Ahh now that i think about it.. i did apply for 1 or 2 credit/debit cards that were posted here on OzBargain! I think it was the ING one that gave you $40 free credit once you signed up.
I thought no history with credit would be better than having a bad one haha.
I've always thought
No credit history = bad credit history
Cause the person about to issue credit doesn't know whether you're able to pay it off or not. No track history to go off.
You failed the credit check because you don't have a history with credit?
It's kinda like how a bank won't give out a home loan to a 20 year old, even if he/she earns like a 150k a year with no outstanding debts and what not, without having an guarantor.
And also having lots of credit checks on your credit history can be a bad thing, some might take it as you've applied for a loan or something that requires a credit check but didn't get it because the loan wasn't recorded cause it never existed.
