Allows you to read news in thousands of groups. It can be very informative, expand your horizons and covers a very large number of genres.

  • that website is a shocker. No info. Looks amateurish. Yearly lifetime rate? :O

    • The rate won't change for the length of service; so no increases ever.

  • This is UsenetExpress backbone so only look if you are not using them or their re-sellers. UE are good though so it's a good deal imo.

    • Better than astra? (which obvs isn't very good!)

I'm using a combination of Usenet express/Highwinds/Tweaknews and it works well and I'm using it in that priority order, all block accounts. Don't have any experience with Astra so can't compare but the above 3 I've had good results. All bought using various black friday or equivalent specials. Never bought at "RRP". All allow multiple IP's so share the cost with my brother. We read a lot of news.

  • Look out for deals at News Group Direct (NGD). They frequently match competitors deals:

I think they are owned by the same crowd as UsenetExpress.

  • details ??? connections ??? ssl ???

    • 50 SSL connections
Use UsenetExpress backbone (retention is like ~1100 days or so)
      They follow DMCA

    • NGD since 01/01/20
      Telstra cable
      30 Connections
      SSL: Yes of course.
Same speed as Highwinds replacement (Frugal)
Retntion:Long term will be less as they are building there own.
      So far so good.
