  • Bummer already own Bioshock, and don’t have PS VR so only one game for me

How do I add the games onto my account without actually downloading it? Still new to PS Plus

    • +7

You just select "add to library" on the PS Plus game, you don't have to download it right there and then.

To download it later just go to your games library and it will be sitting there.

How do you get PS plus for free? You should post it as a deal

    • +3

PS Plus is a subscription service from PlayStation Network, you need to be an active member (paying customer) to get access to the free games monthly, it also includes other benefits such as online multiplayer and additional game discounts..etc

  • +1

Good to see Firewall Zero Hour up there. Would certainly increase the number of players online. Was so hard to start online play due to lack of players

    • I play it regularly without too much issue, but I’m in WA and get matched with Asia too. Incredible game, this will be a welcome boost nevertheless.

  • +2

YESSS. I was umming and ahhing about buying bioshock when it was on special but decided not to buy it. Luckily i didnt.

    • +1

Thats the downfall of having a PS+ subscription. Great games go on discount, but you're afraid to buy them as they might go on PS+ in a month or two.

  • Nice, I still have Bioshock on my Steam backlog but may play the PS4 version for trophies.

I can't imagine playing SIMS 4 on a controller, but would this just be a couch relaxation game?

    • +1

I recently started playing it through EA Access on PS4. Plays very well on controller

    • I can't imagine playing SIMS 4 on a controller, but would this just be a couch relaxation game?

Feel similar, but happy to give it a try.

    • Can you attach usb mouse and keyboard or Am I dreaming? I'm new to ps4 haha

      • You can actually use a keyboard and mouse with Sims 4.

  • +2

    Always wanted to try bioshock!

  • +4

    Finally, a PSVR game.

    • +1

They've had 2 so far. that mech sports game, and Until Dawn rail shooter.. I'm bad with names haha.
But yes we really should be offered more. even if they're smaller titles.

    • +19

I don't agree. For $60 a year, I've got a great library on PS4. I only really need two games of any year to be decent to feel like I've gotten my money's worth.

      • -2

And now you're locked in forever! Neat!

        • +6

I understand your point, but I still think it's decent value. There's certainly a type of person that would already own most if not all of the games that get put on PS Plus, but for me I generally get 8-10 really good quality games to play each year for $60. Even if my subscription lapses and I no longer have access, it detract from the enjoyment I already got from those titles.

          • +5

@jakmon777: Meh, Epic has been giving away free games all year no strings attached.

I'm done with PSPlus, Gamepass is better value imo and works on PC too.

None of this crap where you need to be subbed every month to build a fake library with strings attached and hope they actually give you something decent each month.

            • @neomoz: What are the "strings attached", exactly, apart from having to remain subscribed to keep playing those games? And how is that any different from GamePass? You stop subscribing to that and you lose access too all of those games, too. Or a game leaves GamePass and you lose access to it even if you are still subscribed.

      • That's only really if you keep paying for your subscription. Otherwise you end up paying $60 a year to rent the games as such. I was in the same boat, but decided after 12 months to stop, and now I don't have access to any of the games.

the obligatory VR game they throw you every few months to pretend they give a toss about VR

Sony is the biggest player in VR by some margin.

  • +5

Seems like a great month of games! Sims 4 is good fun on PS4 if you are into that genre. I had a blast collecting all the trophies, only to have my platinum blocked by 1 single trophy where you have to have triplets… Sat there for so long trying to get that last trophy before giving up and accepting defeat.

    • +6

I hear if you set your background as Tasmanian it's easier. Oh wait… that's three heads, not triplets.

    • +2

So how exactly do you get triplets? The trophy hunter in me is curious :) Never played a Sims game before lol

      • +1

Pure RNG when it comes to how many kids will come from a Sim giving birth. I followed a strategy where I would work up a romantic relationship with every female sim in my street and then get them all pregnant, then save my game and keep reloading the save after they all gave birth if there was no triplets. Never managed to get it to happen before giving up.

        • +11

I tried this in real life. Didn't end well.

        • +1

Thank got for quick save or your child support bill would be enormous.

        • Need to cast a wider net than just your street.

        • Playa!

        • In real life you wouldn't even be able to go out the street if you do that let alone "resetting" your game keep reloading until you get what you want…

I suppose this is the fantasy that you want

      • You can just download a pre made family and get the trophy with zero effort.

  • Nice selection of games this month.

    • Goat sim this month was entertaining for a couple mintues hahaha

      • +1

Yeah, I spent longer downloading Goat Simulator than I did actually playing it. And I'm on 100Mbps NBN, so it downloaded pretty quickly :P

  • Nice, this is pretty good.

  • Second month in a row when we get a PS3 collection where the third game was already a Plus game last gen. That's weird.

Will give Bioshock 2 a go. Look forward to it.

    • +1

Don't tell me what to do

  • I just finished bioshock infinite on the PS3 around 18 months ago. (that was the freebie on plus a while back)

  • Decent month for a change. Still doesn't touch the PS3 days, especially since they recently gutted the majority of free titles and moved from like 7 games a month to 3 max.

Actually that reminds me; I got Bioshock Infinite on PS+ a couple months after it came out back in 2013!

    • PS+ back in the PS3 days was ridiculous. I still remember getting Just Cause 2 and Borderlands in the same month. And that was after Dead Space 2 the month before, and followed by Red Dead Redemption the month after. I even ended up buying a Vita. I didn't (and still don't) really have much use for a portable gaming system, but it got to the point where I just had so many games for it (from PS+ and purchasing PS3 games that had cross-buy Vita versions) that it didn't make sense to not have the system to play them on.

      Good times.

      • I did the same with the Vita. Bought it because I had so many games from PS+.
Sold the Vita only last year for $250. Good thing with PS now, they have the PS4 Remote Play app, which works fantastic. I've used it on my PC, Android tablet and Galaxy 10 to play/stream PS4. It's excellent.

Good chance to sell the Vita if you don't use it much :)

        • Nah, I doubt I'd sell it - I do love the thing, even though I don't have a lot of occasions to use it. Going overseas in April, so will probably take it with me just in case.

  • They still put up PS3 games for free on this service?

    • Nope, they raised the price and dropped the PS3 and Vita games because they've got everyone bent over the barrel paying mostly just for the online access atm.

      • After spending years mooching games with my 360 it was depressing to discover the xbox one didn't let you play the games unless you had an active account. I only just picked up a ps3 and thought maybe this was worth jumping on, but alas

        • PS+ costs something like $80 a year. If you took that $80 to EB and rummaged through their used games (or just look on eBay) you could probably come away with a pretty decent collection of games for that money.

          • +1

@AngusD: Yeah, most of the times I picked up 360 games I was on a $1 to rejoin special, for that much it was well worth it.

I have been buying games from JB and others when they are on special, been paying 1-2 dollars for most games, my limit is 5. I probably have major gaps in my collection with many AAA titles not there, but it's a decent collection now with about 80 or so games at least when I combine discs and online titles

            • @Jackson: I was poking around in EB Games on my lunch break. They've got a bin full of PS3 games 4 for $20 (so $5 each). Most of it was old editions of sports games, but there was also some quality AAA stuff… assorted Assassin's Creeds, Uncharted 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, LA Noire, etc. Probably worth a look in your local store (if you have one).

              • @AngusD: Thanks, I might have a chance to pop in today. What do you think about the Move and Eye? Are they worth picking up? Are there any other accessories worth getting?

I have a few of those games on 360, not sure which plays better but I heard from some the 360 does. Might be more interested in exclusives that I definitely won't have already

                • @Jackson: I wouldn't bother with the camera. Probably not the move, either - only really good use for that is with PSVR on PS4. It never really went anywhere on PS3.

Only exclusive that I recall seeing there was Uncharted 2, but that was $18 on its own. If it's a similar story at your store then you might as well try to find another 3 games you can get for the extra $2, even if it's just old versions of FIFA / Madden / PES etc :P

    • remaster

  • Does anyone know the reason why PS+ monthly games don’t come out on the 1st of the month?

    • due to the store updating on a Wednesday. (which seems to be the chosen day for most retailers.)

  • Firewall Zero Hour is (profanity) awesome.

Think Rainbow Six Siege but in VR.

  • +2

Nice set of games to add to my never ending list of to never play games.

  • Is it worth getting the PS move wand? It seems expensive and most second hand has crap battery life. I'm thinking for VR games
