I am looking to transfer my mamas home phone bill from optus (that are currently charging her $50 per month line rental)
she only uses the phone for local calls and very rarely - so spends only about $4 a month on calls
she isn't technology savy so no internet or internet phones etc
can anyone recommend the best home phone deals - contract or no contract, basically just cheap line rental is all she needs
thanks in advance
Carla

There is a similar Optus one called Home Comfort Lite.
thanks scotty, these type of plans are good for old people who dont make many calls
How about a mobile? You don't have to pay line rental.
There is also Telstra Prepaid home which is even cheaper
http://www.telstra.com.au/telstraprepaidplus/prepaidhome/cal…
monthly rates start at $13.90
Change to Optus SMB - $13 per month with 100 free calls.
This is what I have. You need it bundled with DSL or Mobile though.
Any contract mobile (including the Yes $5 sim only one - see Optus site)So thats $18 for line rental (with the sim you can use) with 100 free local calls.
All you need is an ABN for the application - you can pay with any card/method once you sign up like consumer.
And there is a $50 sign up bonus online for SMB
Gee that's awesome! You should post that as a deal!
Too bad my phone line is bundled with my ADSL otherwise I'll give it a go. Any other gotcha's?
