Hi all,
Hubby and I will be in the USA in March next year and part of our trip is 8 days driving from Las Vegas to Tuscon. We want to do Grand Canyon, Williams and Desert Museum in Sedona but the rest is a bit of a blank canvas.
Any suggestions appreciated :)
Well you have 8 days , thats quite a bit of time.
One thing which is a longer way around, (add a day or two including the stop over to see) is to travel north 5 hours to Page Arizona and look at Horseshoe Bend, the slot canyons, the ten-mile Rim Trail and spectacular views from the Glen Canyon Dam and lake Powell.
Every friend I have told about the slot canyons say it was well worth it. they are spectacular. Run by the Indians who are great guides (does cost but well worth it)

Then from there you can travel to the Grand Canyon (3 hours) and you enter from the north, so when you leave you go south you arent doubling up on road from around Flagstaff.
Sedona is quite attractive, but it is very urbanised, a big town and now commercial. (based on a trip there 5 years ago vs first visit 15 years beforehand)
An alternative trip to Tuscon is via The petrified forest which is east from Flagstaff then you head south on 77
Its a great part of the States, no matter where you go. Tucson has old Tuscon, (Western theme park) but there is Tombstone which is an hour southeast which is also pretty cool. (no entry fee and more original)
Enjoy
