Hi there,
I am in an interesting situation right now and would like some help with it.
I've recently purchased a return flight with JAL using a Westpac Debit card, but unfortunately several weeks later I've lost my Debit card and had to get a new one issued.
The tricky situation is that due to personal reasons, I need to will need to cancel my flight but I'm not sure whether I will be issued the refund since my Debit Cards number has changed.
I've called up both the bank and the airline numerous times and I'm still getting mixed answers as:
- The airline can only issue a refund on the original debit card.
- I've had mixed answers from different people in bank. One said that it should be refunded without an issue since its linked to my account. Another advised that I get the Airline to issue a refund using my NEW debit card number or via my BSB and ACC num.
I would appreciate if someone give their own word on this.
Cheers
This is correct. Won't be a problem, had it done before.
