    Nice! Thanks!

  • Hi Moocher, do you know a good facial sunscreen 50+ for men? I don't wear makeup so I want something that is a matte finish but doesn't leave that white cast over my skin like some others do

I've updated the description with a few product suggestions. They will work regardless of whether you wear make-up or not :)

I recommend this, it's matte and leaves no white cast

      :)

      • Thanks! Does this moisturise the face or do I need to buy that separately.

Dumb question, is it ok to put moisturer first then this over the top? Or is it the other way around?

Sunscreen doesn’t moisturise the face but my partner says it does. He only uses spf50, not moisturiser like most men they don’t have time. If you feel your face is dry after sunscreen, buy some moisturiser.

You can do vice versa, I put sunscreen then let it soak for 5 minutes and put moisturiser on.

The sunscreen I recommend doesn’t leave white cast, but it’s rly matte and absorbs quickly, thin layer :)

I use Hamilton and it is excellent. Non greasy as well.

    • Sunscreen doesn't differentiate between men or women btw. All depends on what your preferences are.

      • Nah the reason why I said that is generally men don't wear makeup so if the sunscreen did leave a white cast, women can just cover it up with makeup whereas it'll look silly on men.

Never heard of people colour correcting sunscreen with more makeup, when there are plenty of alternatives. White cast would still show anyway, especially under flash.
Most fancier and non basic sunscreens are made with emphasis on finish and texture, solving the white cast and disco ball look, which happens to be great as primers for makeup.

  • Ist true that these sun screen can cause a cancer

I don't think the findings say that sunscreens cause cancer, from what I understand they say that chemicals from sunscreens have been found to be absorbed into the bloodstream at levels higher than expected, and the effects are still unknown, further testing is still required.

If you are concerned, you can stick with sunscreens with physical filters like zinc oxide. It tends to leave a white cast though.

  • Aldi 50+ for $2.xx is unbeatable, in my experience.

  • Which one is not very sticky or oily?

    • +1

All four products mentioned in description above.

    • Hamilton too

    • They don't give testers for every sunscreen.Neutrogena Hydro Boost feels good.
But end up with the la Roche-Posay one. Thanks.

  • Nivea seems to get lots of "I got burnt" using this.

Amazon has similar or cheaper pricing on Nivea & Banana boat…plus you can use the $2 bonus on SB/CR

The usual cosmetics industry ripoff with a few dollars worth of commodity chemicals being sold for $500 a litre.

    • Would you like to produce your own line of sunscreen and sell at cost price?

If not, then you're like herpes that keeps popping up.
