Seems like a good deal but compared with my experience it seems more expensive!! I bought from contactconnection about 6 months ago and this was my transaction:
    http://www.contactconnection.com.au/index.php?route=item&id=…

    Item Qty Price GST Total
Acuvue 1 Day TruEye 90 Pack
    RIGHT Eye
    Base Curve: 8.5
    Diameter: 14.2
    Power: -2.25
    1 $82 $0 $82
Acuvue 1 Day TruEye 90 Pack
    LEFT Eye
    Base Curve: 8.5
    Diameter: 14.2
    Power: -3.50
    1 $82 $0 $82
    Delivery
    1 $8 $0.73 $8
    ex. GST $171.27
    GST $0.73
    Total $172

The same deal on clearlycontacts would be $115 per box ($104 per box if you buy 4 boxes), But calculating what i got it would be- $230 Plus 6% handling Plus $10 delivery fee minus $41 saving from spreets = $212.80

They are quite expensive IMO, and even if you calculated it at the "bulk cost", it would still be $188. Maybe their other products are cheaper…But just giving you OZbarginers a heads up of my experience :)

You should've tell clearlycontacts about your findings and they've beaten all that by 10%. I've done this price beating thing before, found a US site selling it cheaper. They took shipping into account, beat it by 10% and even used the current xe rate as the exchange rate.

      • Oh good idea (for normal purchases): 110% of the differce would mean about 7 bucks savings!

This guarantee can not be combined with any other coupon code/offer and does not apply to special effect/Halloween lenses, custom lenses, RGP or made-to-order lenses.

Don't think it'll work with this spreets voucher though which is a shame :\

  • ahhh man, i just bought contacts from these guys last week. if only i had waited…

  • +1

so stoked that they're now registered with Aussie health funds!! I can finally get my rebate when I buy from them :)

  • Not bad, ends up $20 - $30 cheaper for my needs, and I have a $5 credit on spreets anyway

  • Awesome, I've been waiting for a good deal to get some halloween contacts cheap :)

    • Hm… things like this really piss me off:
"6% handling fee not included and payable at checkout (6% of total value of order - products only)"

Are they REALLY that desperate that they have to throw dodgy shit like that in there? Why not just say something like $21 for the voucher instead of $19. Why aren't these compulsory "handling" fees already factored into the price they list things at?

Will not be taking up this 'deal' now.

      • I'd recommend checking out this instead:
        https://www.foureyez.com
I just bought a set of costume contact lenses for GBP19 with free delivery and no catches (about AU$30 total), no coupon needed.
Same ones at CrazyContacts - AU$35, no coupon needed.
At ClearlyContacts with $19 coupon - $19 + whatever delivery is + "handling" 6% and whatever dodgy charges they add along the way.

  • Still waiting for spreets to send me the account activation email. Waiting…waiting…

    • Invalid activation code

      Bugger

  • For those not wanting to go for the Spreets voucher but still want to buy contact lenses from clearly contacts in the next week or so, please check out the August coupon codes in a previous post:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50246

  • Are these vouchers specific to contact lenses? Thinking about buying frames from them.

  • The way clearly contacts markets itself, it wouldnt be suprising to see another group buy deal or special in the near future. The contact prices looked very good a few months ago, shame if the price has gone up.

  • has anyone manage to get the $10 referral credit from spreet?
i couldn't find the referral code anywhere in the email sent.

    • +1

The $10 is when you refer a deal and someone signs up.

You can also get $5 if you subscribe to the daily deals email.

  • Has anyone tried using their voucher yet? I have entered the 'unique code' and it is coming up with a message saying coupon code was not applied.

  • Voucher still not working. No reply from clearly contacts or spreets.

Has anyone been able to use their voucher?

    • i got mine to kinda work awhile ago but its only took off $50, so i closed the page and tried again now the voucher not working again …

    • I've just used mine. It took off the shipping cost and $50 off the contact lenses. As the Spreets voucher mentions, part of the value must go towards shipping (which is $9.95).

I'm sorry to hear that others have had problems, I hope it can be resolved with Spreets or Clearly Contacts.

  • Just tried again and still no luck. It won't take anything off the total at all and still comes up with the message 'coupon code was not applied'. I have to admit I'm starting to get really annoyed - and a bit worried that I am not going to get my $60.

I am using the 'unique code' from the spreets email - is that correct?

    • Yay it finally worked. Just kept going onto the site and trying the code.
Wasted so much time on this (I must have tried that code dozens of times over the last day) but at least it's gone through now.

      • Finally, phew! :)

  • Cool it works now :)! Was previously worried and emailed Spreets support and they claimed I was trying to use two vouchers at once…

    • I commented on their site about how the voucher didn't work and they said the same thing to me.

I received a reply from Clearly Contacts this morning telling me that the voucher was actually valid from today - not yesterday.

Anyway my contacts have been sent already so I am happy with that. At least Clearly Contacts are on the ball - shame about Spreets.

  • Ordered my contact lenses on Wed 24th and received them on Fri 26th. Very happy with the speediness of the service. The next test is actually claiming from Medibank Private….

  • Why is it only $50.00 off? It is supposed to be a $60.00 voucher!

    • $50 is for the contacts and the rest has to go towards shipping. I think it does mention that somewhere.

edit: yes if you read the fine print above it mentions $9.99 is for shipping.
