Excellent mat - good for car camping (not hiking). Very comfortable and well made.

  • And almost never goes on sale. I just missed out on previous 2 sales and had to buy at the normal discounted rate (439 for duo). Super comfortable. If you need a guest or camping mattress, just buy this now.

  • Agree this is an excellent choice. I paid $500 for the Duo less than a year ago.

  • Excellent, been waiting and waiting and waiting for one of these to go on sale.

Almost bought the Black Wolf mega deluxe at the clearance price of $219.

But held off for one of these. Finally my patience is rewarded.

  • +1

Awesome mat. Got the duo last sale for 299

    • That's a good price

    • Same here. Was dubious at first but it’s been absolutely brilliant.

  • +1

Don't forget Qantas points available from Snowy's as well. (Or CashRewards)

Great price. Huge fan of snowys and their service here.

      Thanks, Muzzamo!

  • How is your 'fast delivery' sent out.
Want to select 'send to depot' if no one is home, rather than leave at door and risk being stolen, but depends where the depot is…

    • G'day Albanyson,
Our fast delivery service is sent through Toll. The depots are a bit sparse (one per capital city) - what suburb are you sending to? Laine

      • Toll works for me

      • Melbourne toll depot for a pickup (for a med-large item) was Tullamarine right near airport

        • Spot on, Desty!

  • I'm looking for a mattress to sleep in the back of my ute while I go touring. The measurements are 1800mm x 1520mm. How would this mattress go with the end been squished to fit 1800mm long term?

    • Sounds like the perfect fit, Symoits. If it turns out to be a tight fit, I'd suggest reducing the air a smidge to prevent long term wear & tear.

      Laine

  • f***, Yes, been waiting for a sale for years!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336409 - missed out on this one… (70 bux cheaper a few years ago though :'( )

    • +1

      Damn, How'd I miss that one…..
      (Single was $199 too)

      • yep, wanted to get a single and a double, thats like 100 dollar saving if i'd gotten it in that sale! :(

hmmm: was 300 a few months ago, so not fantastic :(

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455211

        • seems my excitement was a bit premature…

come on OP, can you match what you did it for a few months ago!? (specially if i buy a LXW and a LW+)

        • G'day Albanyson & Wisc,
As you can see - it's super rare that we can discount the Exped Mats… and since our last price drop, Exped has increased their prices.

You won't find it this cheap (today & tomorrow) for a long time.

          Laine

          • @SnowysOutdoors: but 100 bux more for two matts? (50 dollar price rise?!?)

sigh OK, you got me, You win this round Laine…. - does this mean we get a refund if in the future you have them on sale cheaper than this?

            :'(

            (thanks for the quick response)

            • @wisc: Strike while the iron is hot matey.

            • +1
              • @Spending2Much: should'a, could'a, would'a! (if i had seen them at this time!) - thats what i get for not checking more carefully though!
( I know :'( i posted that link above! - salt into the wound!)

                • @wisc: If you're real keen on a specific item, subscribe to that store near the top of the page.

Snowys don't post bargains that often but when they do they are usually golden.

  • Thanks OP, bought a second one. :)

Just wondering why this mattress seems so highly regarded?

I'm looking at getting a self inflating mattress for camping, so what makes this one better than say, the oztrail one that's half the price?

    • Pretty much all my friends and I have it. It's super comfortable, seems really durable, not too hard to pack. It's expensive, but the quality is definitely there. I'd recommend you check out the reviews on the Snowy's site: https://www.snowys.com.au/megamat-10-lxw-camping-mat

A big difference with these vs something like the BlackWolf ones is that the sides go straight up, so you get more surface area to sleep on.

    • If its the one on their site you are comparing to, it's twice as thick. The exped has a very high r-value 9.5

      https://www.snowys.com.au/blog/product-of-the-month-exped-me…

The build quality on the exped is sensational. 5 yr warranty.

Depends on what kind of camping you are doing also. If hiking and wild camping then this mat is too big to carry.
If you are driving to a camp site and setting up there then stop your search and buy this one… It's fantastic.

      • Would you recommend a sleeping mat for hiking?

        • +1

I've used this sleeping mat on my hikes and I can attest to it's 1) comfort and 2) lightweight, compact portability:

          https://www.snowys.com.au/prolite-plus-sleeping-mat

It has a good combination of keeping off the ground enough so that you don't feel your joints hit the floor, but thin enough so that you don't get cold from too much air between the ground and your body.

I use it in combination with this tent which I also consider amazing for solo hikes:

          https://www.snowys.com.au/nomad-2-hike-tent

It's super light and compact but roomy enough for one person to put all their gear inside and sleep comfortably, in case you need to shelter your equipment from rain or critters.

Man, I thought I read 10W Charging Mat for camping.. LOL

  • Great price! This was only down to $390 on boxing day!

    • G'day Goboo14,
Might've been another mat? As it's been 8months since we last dropped our dacks on the Megamat pricing.

      Laine

      • +1

Yes! It was $390 at Bogong in Melbourne

  • These are wonderful. Bought two of the singles 3 years ago and have made camping (where car access is available as these suckers are big) such a better experience. Bought a double in this sale.

  • Every damn time I've gone camping since 2018 I've thought about the deal for $280 and kicked myself for not getting on it. Then here we are 20% dearer at apparently the best it's gonna get.

I guess I'm going to have today to think about it…. hey Snowy's you have lots of willing buyers here. Any chance of an Ozbargain super special?

    • Sorry, Hinee! The prices are rockbottom… and between you & me, they're seriously flying out the door!

Make sure you don't miss out this time around!

      Laine :)

      • Good enough for me - sold.

FYI I had three failed attempts at trying to purchase. I have a feeling it wasn't liking Chrome auto filling my name/address/credit card info. I only managed to get it through on the 4th attempt using Paypal, as when I'd logged into PP and got sent back to the cart for final confirmation my details had been cleared out.

        • hmm, Im having troubles with CC transaction as well, rang up snowy - they said they where receiving others transactions, question for you Hinee, where you using a 28 degree mastercard? (contacted my bank, they said, there where no issues - maybe connectivity between the bank and snowys… they did say there internet was slow)

          • +1

@wisc: Nope straight bank issued Mastercard. After it told me there issues and I should contact the bank I went straight to Paypal and paid using the same card.

            • @Hinee: thanks, just worried if i use paypal i wont get the price payment protection…

edit: given up and just used paypal which worked fine.

              • @wisc: I've had a 28deg for years and have never thought to use this feature. I at least think you're pretty safe with this one - Laine sounds pretty straight that we're not gonna see this price again.

                • @Hinee: You have to enable it, (and it adds extra interest if you don't pay your account) but for purchases like white goods and this one, that go on sale from time to time, for peace of mind, can't go wrong, specially when i see people above paying the standard price for it!

i really only use this card for the price protection, and a more general card for every day purchases. (the credit limit on this one is too high to play nicely) - if i think something may go on sale again in the future, I'll use it.

and given this was 299, just 8 month ago, there is a chance it potentially could be had for a bit cheaper than we paid today. either at Snowys, or even another Australian vendor clearing them out…

  • Would buy it, but already got one. Keeps us warm and cosy even when camping in the middle of winter.

  • Need ~2m by 1m, which is in between these two sizes.

I don't know why I can't find them. Surely other people have outdoor daybeds? It's the standard size for them.

  • Amazing mattress at an awesome price just bought one for my mate. Also the green is at the same price which it wasn't when I bought mine.

  • Have used these in an OzTent for a few years now and they are the duck's nuts when it comes to camping mattresses.

If you're on the fence, GET OFF IT! Buy now and you won't be sorry!

  • Spewing, bought the Megamat 10 Duo last week from Snowys for $440 :(

    • Hey mate, snowys have a 60 day returns policy! Get on it!

  • +1

Excuse my ignorance here, could anyone explain the difference between this and a queen self inflating mattress - from a functionality point of view. I notice this one allows for pump assistance, whereas the self inflating one doesn't.
    https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/products/camping-gear/self-…

    • Build quality/longevity would be the main one. I'd also check packed size & weight (the link you gave doesn't specify), and warmth rating.

    • I've slept on various self inflating mats and they're all different in terms of weight, size packed, comfort etc. Getting a good nights sleep while away for a week is priceless IMO and after wanting one of these for 2yrs is absolutely an investment.

It's likely you'll be more than happy with the one you've linked - I'm just at the point where I want the best I can get.

      • +1

I'm the same. Held off for the best quality at a good price.

  • +2

Have owned two of the single size mats for 4+ years. We mostly use them for car camping but also when guests are visiting and there are no more beds available. Much more comfortable than any air mattress or sofa bed I have ever used and guess frequently say they prefer them to their own beds at home!

Something to be aware of is that Exped recommends for them to be stored unrolled with both valves open. If you store them rolled up for too long, I find that the foam takes multiple days of being unrolled to return to its normal comfort and support level. Just something to be aware of.

I lent one mat to a friend and they somehow managed to be a cut in the side wall. Followed the instructions on the included patch kit and the mat was back to as good as new. Patch has held up for two years and counting.

  • +1

Can anyone recommend if its worth getting the 2 singles or should I just go the duo. Not a frequent camper

  • to store rep: Watching the video, it looks like it inflates itself? Thanks

    • +1

Sure does - they're self-inflating. And just a heads up, this mat requires extra time to inflate when setting up for the first time (we suggest 1 - 2 days). Laine

  • Been waiting a while for this to come up, grabbed one. Cheers

  • Got a stretcher from Snowys last month - quick delivery despite it being almost Christmas and no issues at all with ordering or how it was packed. Price was great too. Thanks Snowys!

  • How big does it roll out once it comes out of the box? I assume 130-140cm long due to the width? Got an oztrail queen self inflator at the moment which has to go diagnoally in the dual cab canopy when packed up to be able to fit.

    • +2

Both packed and unpacked dimensions are in the ad.

      Single -
      External Dimensions:197L x 77W cm
      Packed Dimensions:79L x 25W x 25H cm

      Duo -
      External Dimensions:197L x 130W cm
      Packed Dimensions:70L x 30W x 30H cm

      • Oh my mistake, I thought packed dimensions were brand new. Cheers

  • In terms of comfort how do these compare with those big foam/vinyl self inflating mats (oztrail etc)
And what are people's experience using two single pads together with straps?

  • Duo sold out? tried 2 payment methods

    • We've still got a few left in stock, Krustycustomer.

      • Hi Snowy's

My original order for one single got sent out already….

Can I order the second one and the straps and for the price of the package deal and pay the difference.?

  • Paypal seemed to work, now just need a tent…

  • Wish there was a store or collection point in WA….pretty sure there isn't one though?

Off camping this long weekend and was going to take the plunge on the Monstamat twin but struggling for stock anywhere. Might just grab this and go without a mat for now.

just got the message earlier it was on the truck ready for delivery, damn that's fast!

  • +1

Mine got to work before me today :)

  • Gotta love OzBargain. Just saved over $200

  • Ordered three yesterday morning and they arrived today!

    Gotta love Snowys!!

  • Ripper. Worth noting that they have a package deal on the single. Buy two LWX and a connector strap (to turn into queen) for $457.90.

Three of these fit perfectly in my Oztent RV4 and perfect for a young family.

    • Damn, I didn't see that….

My original order has been sent out

  • So annoyed and frustrated… pre-purchased different mats from another retailer and even though I’m yet to collect the mats in-store the retailer refused to offer a full refund, preventing me from purchasing these mats instead.

    • +2

Strewth! That's terrible. Our sale will end at midday today (in 5hrs) so I hope you're able to sort something before then. Cheers, Laine

  • Damn , I just missed this
I'll have to put in an alert for the next sale , hopefully I don't have to wait too long

    • I've been waiting years for ours, LOL.. finally bit the bullet on this sale, even though it wasn't close to the historical low.

wish we had this when we travelled around Australia…
