    According to this: http://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/redeem

    • An All-in-One Travel Adapter with USB Power Port costs 5,000 "miles"
    • UA Cinemas movie ticket vouchers (2-ticket pack) costs 3,500 "miles"

    This "bonus" is virtually worthless.

Just as an example: Round trip SYD to HKG in economy gives 9184 miles. Redemption miles required for the same route is 45,000. Current return fares during the applicable travel period is $1151.

    Therefore at ((9184*2)+500)/45000 * (1151-374Tax) = $326 value.

The prerequisite for all of this is that you're an Asia Miles member (free to join) and intend to travel enough on CX to be able to utilise these miles.

    • And that you travel often enough on Cathay to redeem the miles, which expire 3 months after they're credited (see here).

EDIT Never mind. Brain fart. Three years (to the month).

    • However you would get the 9184 without this promotion anyway, so getting an additional $167.

Maybe worth comparing a few flights from cathaypacific.com versus zuji for a price difference. Also need to be careful for both that you're getting flights that qualify for AsiaMiles. Even booking and flying with Cathay, the cheapest class of flights do not earn points.

      • And then you've got to tackle how does this compare to the dozens of other frequent flyer programs around that you'd be not partaking of to partake of this one…

It seems like a nice bonus if you already use Asia Miles and choose flights based on their Asia Miles worth… but I'm guessing that's an incredibly tiny amount of people who'd know about this already.

  • used to have asia miles but found that unless you fly with Cathay all the time, its very hard to get asia mile points in Aust.. switched to Qantas FF instead and never looked back

  • Qantas FF allows conversion of AsiaMiles points to Qantas FF points.

    • with a charge though which make the conversion REALLY expensive …
