I am looking to purchase a sofa couch, or something that equivalently solves my problem.
I have recently moved into a new room that is quite small and I currently have a queen sized mattress on the floor and i have no space to stand.
Was thinking of replacing it with perhaps a futon couch so I can still sit and watch TV, but in my experience fold out couches aren't very comfortable. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

A bit out of my price range unfortunately. Was hoping for $500 max but not sure what type of quality I'll get out of that.
I was looking at the koala, there no store to try, but looks comfortable. Looking for soda bed for the guest room.
We were initially sceptical as it was very comfortable as a sofa so we didn't think it would also be so as a bed but it was! The only thing that took some getting used to was the mattress being on the floor but we didn't mind for our week stay.

Swap your QB for something smaller, like a king single? Put a chair next to it for sitting.
I've used this for a while in Japan, was actually really good as a bed and couch.
Locally, Ikea seems to have something similar almost in your budget.

For mattress I grabbed some foam touch foam delivered cheap from Amazon cut it to size put down some Wadding(more for looks) and then chucked a stretchy slip cover i bought off eBay over the top of the cushions/mattress instead of learning to sew.
A queen size one cost me around 300 including all the materials and it was way too easy to make considering the price of futons.
Airbnb had this Koala Sofa Bed & it was very comfortable.
