Need a multifunction printer

Hey everyone.

I'm looking for a decent networkable (preferably wireless) printer for my house.

Necessary features would be networking, scan/copy and colour.

Desirable would be wireless, laser (and colour still) and duplex. Hopefully haven't missed anything.

Anyone able to suggest a cheap buy, or even what models and printers I should be looking at?

The number one consideration with printers is the cost of consumables (ink). Select with consideration of that, based on total cost of ownership over (say) two years.

Then compare initial costs. You will find that the cheapest printer is not the least expensive.

I say if you are going for an inkjet mulifunction and decide to use it on refills. I do not recommend HP's photosmart range. For my one with wireless, I constantly have to clean, take out the cartridges, turn it off and back on. And this is my 3rd replacement during warranty. =S But I also use a Samsung clp-300n which I have had for ~3 years and that works perfectly, fast, color, networked, but it only has manual duplex, (u take the paper output, place it above the input section)—it was 175 dollars new.

HP Officejet 6500…need colour in the cartridges to print black…yeah…work it out!

Bloody HP… just a heads up on their latest undocumented features in their printers!
