Can anyone vouch for this? I'm interested in a pay once and forget service, but want to be sure that it's going to be fast enough to not notice most of the time, and ergonomic enough to easily flick off and on for gaming sessions.

Any VPN with a lifetime price is a ponzi style scheme to rip you off.

      • I'm confused how it's ponzi, but I get that lifetime doesn't mean much in a relatively new and evolving field.

I found that NordVPN has a 3 year package for $125 that seems like a good alternative since they seem to be the premier product. I mostly just want it to be easy and transparent so the bigger brand name give me more confidence in avoiding virusy shit like Bongo mentioned.

I used it whilst overseas and worked perfectly! also got the lifetime sub price.

      • Thanks for the feedback! Have you used any others like Nord to compare it with?

        • ive owned a lifetime windscribe subscription for since late 2017 and its been really good, yes on rare occasions it drops out but im sure all vpns have issues every now and then. also they are vastly improving with more features, servers and stability and it literally cost the same price as this one in the deal. lifetime subscriptions can turn out well and having used nord in the past for gaming it lagged a lot while windscribe was great so sometimes lifetime deals do work out although for the most part they probably don't.

I've had a lifetime VPN Unlimited account for about 5+ years - haven't used them for about 4+ years, speeds were atrocious. Haven't even bothered seeing if they have improved, plus the 5 device restriction unless you pay more.

Picked up a Windscribe Lifetime deal about 4 years ago, far far better than VPN Unlimited and I can use it across as many devices as I've got, (multiple RasPi's, phones, VPS's, and laptops/computers).

    • Found an interesting video others might benefit from here:

  • Looks like a virus. Lots of crap gets installed on your PC that requires admin approval.

    • +1

Installing a VPN will require admin rights but you're right to question which applications you grant admin priviledges

They will supply you OVPN files if you want to use the OpenVPN client rather than theirs

The lifetime of the company, not you. I doubt it will survived more than a year.

    • Used them a few years ago, for around 3 years. They do keep logs and speeds topped out at about 1MB/sec for me. Worth the price of entry if you’re looking for cover from your ISP, not worth if you’re looking for speed, reliability or secrecy

      • +4

        No secrecy, no point.

I agree, which is why I changed, there are some use cases for these sorts of products, but not useful to me

        • Yep that just sealed the deal for me.

Seems to get an okay review from That One Privacy Site, although it does keep logs if you're extra concerned about protecting your online activity from snooping

Family is happy with this since previous deal. There's netflix and disney+ US servers and it works well.

  • I've been using them for about three years now.$20 something dollars for three years for a VPN for five devices and still going. All this ponzi stuff is crap. I'd say that I've more than got my value out of it. I'm not doing anything illegal, so if they keep logs whatever.

I have been using them for few months now. Not bad at all.

  • the description says - Zero Log policy

  • used for more than 3 years. and keep updating serivces. been using in China. speed good and bad. it varies, i was told it was due to the GFW and ISP throttling. definately not the fastest one. but still usable depending your requirement.

  • I use this, not bad, but I prefers windscribe cos it can allow LAN access between computers
KeepSolid browser plugin can access BBC iplayer while windscribe cannot.
