Paris Accommodation Help Needed

Hi all, looking for some recommendations for Paris accommodation.

Going in June for 1 night only, for my mum's 70th birthday.

We have booked the Eurostar already. There will be 7 of us, comprising of 1 couple, 1 single, mum and 3 teenagers (all family members).

Have no idea where the best area to stay is that's not too far from the train station..

Any recommendations please..thanks

  • Apparently camping out under a bridge is all the rage over there these days.

Zones 1 & 2 are the usual tourist areas but you'll be paying for it. We ended up staying at the bottom of 6, almost 14 as it was near a Metro station and the hotel was a good price and nice. Easy to get everywhere on the Metro. You're really never that far from a Metro in Paris no matter where you stay. Eurostar is in zone 10 above 2.

large group = airbnb or similar

  • Holiday inn express canal de la Villette
68 quai de la seine Paris

Wife and 11 year old stayed there for a week. Any Holiday Inn she would recommend. Mid priced. This one close to train station. Also by the way if your get a chance to go to the Eiffel tower gift shop we need 3 extra Paris metro map place mats.

  • Only one night in Paris, are you nuts?

I agree with the Air BnB option. Just be careful that you don’t have to climb too many stairs, unless mum is very fit.

Personally we like to stay around Les Halles area because a lot of the train lines go through there and you can walk to the Louvre etc.

  • Recently stayed near the 7th Zone which is fairly close to the Eiffel Tower.

If you are only there for one night - make sure you get into Paris city before peak hour, otherwise you'll burn up hours trying to get through the traffic.
