  I always thought the bonus content was physical and if they are then there is no real difference between getting this and a normal copy

  Sounds like a good deal until you realise they are the publishers & creators of the game so they can charge whatever they want. It's not like they are being forced to overcharge you, they just do it anyway and as an 'act of good faith' give you a store credit so you have to spend money on their own service. Seems shady to me.

    They were forced into it by their retail distributor who didn't want them undercutting the local retailers.

    However GOG allow you to change your location to the US in your account settings (and "trust" you're telling the truth) and pay the US price.
