Hi all, I am thinking to buy a luxury shoulder bag for my wife birthday. However, I doesn't have any experience with all the brand. I thinking to buy her either LV or YSL. Which brand do you think is better value and why?

'Value' is the last thing that comes to mind when you mention these brands.
I know but she been thinking to have one for very long time.
So just get one that has classic styling. Otherwise you end up with a dated looking expensive dust collector.

I'd go with YSL. It is a more classic design as compared to that LV.

Both brands offer very different styling. At this price range it's best to get the one she likes, just ask her which one she wants.
Don't risk choosing it yourself.
Her being happy with the styling is far more important than a 10 second surprise element that may not go down well.

I have just looked the 2 options, and my partner has the same black YSL and loves it. I also like the look of it. When I buy her handbags I also have to approve the design. If I personally don't like the look of it, I wouldn't allow her to get it. She can buy it herself lol.
LV bags are typically the traditional brown/tan/gold styling. That's what it's known for, so the LV option you have doesn't look that great and represent LV well, and it's a higher price. But that's my opinion and it does not count lol.
Take her shopping with you, half the experience of these purchases is getting to go to the store.
Don't make the decision yourself. Seriously, that old school bullshit isn't worth the risk.
If you want to still make it a surprise take her out for a day together, walk in to the Luis Vuitton store and tell her to choose the bag she likes! That will really blow her away.

I could care less what brand you're after but I repeat, let women purchase their own hand bags. It's a personal thing for them. You can be there with her when she buys it but she should make the choice since she'll be the one slinging it over her arm.
I love my YSL handbag and they are very well made so I don't think you'll go wrong with it.
