  • Some really scary reviews of the software and volume on these guys. Doh

  • “Gaming” software is terrible these days.

Was reading about Corsair Virtuoso and Sennheiser GPS 670.

Hardware is great but software ruins it.

  • despite probably sounding great, my god are those things fugly….

  • "Surround Sound" gaming headphones are a joke.

The majority of them only have a single driver per ear (like these Sennheisers), so they emulate the surround sound effect through janky and extremely sub-par virtualisation that just introduces a lot of distortion, noise and reverb, and the ones that actually do have multiple drivers in each ear cup are even worse as the the overall cost of the product divided by each driver means they're going to offer much worse sound quality versus a single driver design.

A high-end pair of studio headphones teamed with a clip-on mic is the way to go if you actually care about sound quality.

    • Agree, but the 7.1 is emulated by the in line sound card and you don't have to enable it.

  • Don't forget that these terminate in a micro-USB which then plugs into the in-line sound card that then plugs into your device via standard USB-A. You are basically limited to using them with your PC or PS4. You won't be able to use any other sound card, DAC or AMP with them so keep that in mind.
