For DIYers, the two ingredients are
Imidocloprid and Moxidectin
Imidocloprid is a common termicide (kills termites) chemical. It's reasonably safe for pets and humans in contact with them in low doses (For fleas and a better termicide, search Fipronil - very cheap for a lifetime supply).
Moxidectin is a common wormer for farm animals.
All are available from agriculture supply stores for less than 1/20th the price of this per volume of active ingredient. You'll pay twice as much for the two, but the quantity will last the lifetime of your pet.
Calculate, measure and apply the correct dose to your pets and don't get ripped off by retail packs like this.
