Does anyone own bookshelf Edifier Speakers? Does it come with AU Plug?

I saw on the Edifier Australia website it mentions that it only comes with a North American Plug, but I don't know if that site is fake because it's hosted on the shopify platform. I looked at Kogan but they don't mention anything.

Preferably would want to buy from a brick and mortar store in Sydney if possible, and AU Plug so that if there is any issue with insurance that I am covered. You know the stories about insurance companies and non-insulated plugs…

Or is there anything else someone can recommend?

I thought I might try look at Harvey Norman but they don't sell those in store, and it seems like it's a third party selling it… I'm also unable to determine what the plug looks like.

Example:

https://www.edifier.com/au/en/support/products/edifier-r1280…

What does the power plug look like? Is it standard USA or European?

The R1280T uses standard North American plugs. And comes with a 110 - 220v power supply.

Edifier is available on Amazon - the speakers I got had an AU plug.

    • Yeah, I'm going to go buy that one.

  • Edifier Australia website it mentions that it only comes with a North American Plug

If I bought from Edifier AU I would definitely expect an AU plug.
I’m sure a few on ozbargain have purchased Edifier’s from Edifier AU and at least one would have mentioned it if it came with the US plug.

Confusing. Maybe they are short of stock on certain models, and are shipping in US products to sell? (Edifier products are listed at very similar prices to AU prices in US dollars, so maybe they simply are struggling to move product over in the US).

Or maybe they just forgot to change the description. I suggest calling Edifier AU and asking them about the description.

  • Must be a typo or lazy copy paste.

I looked at Kogan but they don't mention anything.

Because it shouldn't even be mentioned. Sold in Australia, 100% AU plug.
The speakers must have something like the IEC 3-prong plug socket or the 8-figure plug socket that can be used to suit any countries, otherwise their engineers are extremely short-sighted aka failures.

  • Got mine on Amazon.au and like the others, it was the Australian plug. Edifier R1280BT. Is there a reason you are linking the R1280T? The BT version is on sale on the Edifier website for $115.

No, I don’t. Any true stories, or just speculation?

    • I think it is a true story on Whirlpool somewhere. The problem is trying to determine whether it is a parallel import or whether it is a product that has met Australian electrical standards.

I'm sure there are dodgy imports, but I am trying to find an example of an insurer who has refuse to pay out because of one, or as them excluded in their PDS.
