Importing FIFA 12 and other games

Did anyone import FIFA11 for the PS3 and were there any issues, specifically with online multiplayer? I'm looking to import FIFA12 this year instead of being ripped off locally.

Also, looking to import Halo 1 remake and COD:MW3 when they're released. Should there be any issues with these?

  • I imported FIFA11 from the UK and EA has introduced a new "online pass" which is a unique serial code found on the back of your manual which is a one-use code. Without this code you can't play online, and because my copy was from the UK, my AUS PSN account did not accept the code, so without creating a UK PSN accounting I basically can't play online.

However, i did import FIFA10 from the UK and it had none of this online pass nonsense, and it worked online fine.

Before importing any game, make sure you ask the vendor if there will be any region-compability issues and do your research. I didn't and now i can't play fifa11 online, although its only $25 new from EB locally.

  • i bought a ebay (Asia) version of FIFA11. created a Asia PSN account, entered the code and log on back with my AUS PSN account and no problem/issues with online gaming with it.

  • Sometimes you will have trouble with online codes and DLC, it's up to you if the savings are worth the hassle. I get all my games from ozgameshop and zavvi and am yet to encounter any problems.

  • Thanks guys

  • Can anyone tell me about pre-ordering FIFA 12 for this year? Where is the best place to order on line for delivery arrival ON the release date?

I ordered a Final Fantasy from DSE a couple of years ago, and it was delivered ON THE DAY it was released. Brilliant. No queueing and no out-of-stocks, and the price was competitive. Am looking for FIFA 12 for PS3 and Battlefield for PC. Anyone?

If your looking overseas you can't go wrong with the hut or zaavi. Its roughly about $58 bucks and you may have to wait a bit later than release date. On the hut there is a current deal going, buy 3 pairs of dkny underwear for 17.85 pounds and get fifa 12 for 17.85 pounds. Strange deal but not to shabby! The hut also loves to send out 10% off codes.

Janemac, it's best to wait out the 10 business days for an overseas order. Go with Captain Awesomee's post, the underwear/FIFA 12 combo is a great deal.

If you INSIST on getting it on the day, then you will need a local copy and I'd assume the best local price would be that of www.gamesplus.com.au (aussie stock, region 4) , but go check out www.gamecafe.com.au to be sure that they have the best local price. Otherwise, if you want a brick and mortar price, then you don't want have much choice, you only have DSE, JB-HIFI, Game and EB Games to choose from. Their prices are deadset daylight robbery but that's the price you pay if you want it uber quick.

As for Battlefield, (and if you really want to save on the dough), then wait it out for the Russian CD-KEYS to play online. That's the beauty of PC gaming, you save tones of money compared to us console gamers :(

    • gamecafe.com.au will usually have best price listing. If you find better, submit the better price there.

  • Thanks captainawesome and 2dads. I will order the hut deal today. Great find :)
