The only software I missed when I switched to linux. Dopus is great, support Aussie developers.

      No. Support bill Gates.

        No. Free Bill Posters.

  • If it wasn't for the fact that I have to use different computers belonging to different users, I probably would have moved to this on my computer a few years ago.

The tabbed interface looks to be similar to the one that Microsoft were meant to add to Windows Explorer, but then they removed it from the pre-release version for no good reason (and I think the feature has been canned).

There is a portable/USB version. Not sure if this helps you?

A wonderful piece of software, but way too expensive.

Directory Opus Pro Single Single machine licence plus one personal laptop $89 AUD
Directory Opus Pro Dual Two machine licence plus one personal laptop $129 AUD
Directory Opus Pro Five Five machine licence plus one personal laptop $249 AUD

I've been using it for years, but stopped at version 10. I have four desktops and three laptops - so too expensive to upgrade now, even at 40% off..

Although I believe that version 10 doesn't work on Windows 10, I'm still sticking with Win 7, so I'm fine at present. But I will have to upgrade at some stage, obviously.

And be warned - the learning curve is very difficult if you want to use everything that the software is capable of. It took me around a year to set it up, and I haven't been game to touch the settings since. I just keep the settings backed up regularly.

    • I've got Opus 10 working on Windows 10. I've stayed on v10 also for the same reason, but just pulled the trigger on the v12 upgrade with USB export.

      And yeah steep learning curve.

I'm happy with Everything, it is free and finds me all what I search for across my connected 7 disks.

    • Thanks, looks like a good bit of software to have.

  • great software.

i think it's poorly managed with those prices - ridiculously expensive

    • I think it's actually excellently priced the lousy author to sell a premium product to those that are willing to use it and not cheapskates that will add needless tech support costs.

DirOpus was the best Amiga app back in the day. Fond memories….
