Harvey Norman 40% off HP computers

HN are advertising 40% off HP desktops and laptops for this weekend. It remains to be seen whether the 40% is off their normal prices or off jacked-up RRP.

  • If it applies to their netbooks aswell, you can get a pretty sweet one for around $240.

    • s it s fr netbooks too but all hp netbooks are 699 and above at hn melb qv

      • I found this latest news!:
The HP TouchPad is no more. The month-old device has become the latest casualty in the bitter tablet wars, receiving the cold shoulder from HP as the company announced yesterday that it will cease manufacturing the product. However, this news means that bargain hunters are licking their lips at the chance to score an aggressive deal on the webOS-based tablet.

  • its always off rrp but sometimes off catalogue items

  • it looks like this sale is going to be better than the one JB just had finished on Monday

  • Would they price match and another 40% off? or pm ow?

  • Not much cheaper, even with this 40%. How come their price tags are always over the top?

  • Nooooooo…..Would it be a bad thing if I picked up a second lappy in a week?

    • Re-sell it on Ebay. Many dumb heads willing to pay 1100 for an Ipad 2 are on Ebay lol.

  • So its not a nationwide promotion, is it?

  • +2

    Looks to be nationwide.

I got a dv6-4023TX (i7, 4GB, 320GB, 1GB dedicated graphics) from OfficeWorks for $635 after pricematch w/ JB last week and HN is showing this online for $999 so in theory it could work out even better (might be worth a trip back to Officeworks).

Although just called three of the local stores and their starting price is $1499 and after 40% off $898, so looks like they inflate their prices before the deal.

Kinda too dodgy I gotta say. Ruins everything.

    • Doesn't seems to have this promotion on in Harveynorman Nunawading, Melbourne,, with prices remaining as tagged after the recent sale.

    • Managed to get OW to pricematch in the end.

This thread has an OW receipt :

      Bargain for $570

  • They were selling the dv6-4024TX for $779 i think. The 4023TX was less but can't remember exactly.. $6xx.

    • Where mate?

      • +1

This was at the Martin Place store in Sydney.

        • Thanks heaps mate. 6xx I see. But could you remember it's more than 650 or less?

        • +1

Sorry I didn't really look. The 4024TX was the minimum I was looking at.

    This is sick

Melbourne QV harvey Norman is the worst place for laptops

A HP netbook which was marked at 399 dollar was marked today at 799 dollar and a 40% discount on that.( It is a NETBOOK - AMD processor)

Nowhere in the world a netbook with AMD processor will be RRPed at 799 dollar. When I confronted an employee called Nicks there, e told this is marketting.

Some laptops quoted as 748 dollar in website is marked at above 1000 dollars. So this 40% off is kind of cheating…

    • They seem to be dodgy as always. But c'est la vie mes amies.

  • I bought a HP 8500a printer (not the plus version) for $198. I almost paid closer to $300 for it last week so I'm happy.

    WARNING!!

This sale is a complete joke I have been today to 2 Harvey Norman stores both of them had only 1 HP PC on display & when I asked the staff wher they all were they told me they were out the back but then promptly suggested I look at something that wasn't part of this deal??? The one HP model that was on display was priced at $888 (after the 40% off according to the staff), however I saw this very same model on TV with them at $788 last weekend, $100 cheaper!! Add to this that I have since found & bought this very same model at other retailers at their "everyday" price which was cheaper than Harvey Norman's 40% off price. Ethanol, I agree with you these guys must be jacking up their "normal ticketed prices" to way over the "normal" price, prior to these sales to give everyone the false impression of a good deal, does anybody know if any of the above is actually legal??

Sayonara Mr Harvey, you have lost this customer & I will never trust your advertising again :(
