Miele Classic C1 Bagged Vacuum Cleaner $249 @ Godfrey‘s

42

Good saving on the Miele Classic C1 Bagged Vacuum Cleaner.

All my research suggests the bagged versions are the best.

After the last five years of Dyson hand sticks and Xiaomi robovacs with declining suction, it’s time to go old school for long term reliability.

  • While we’re all here. C2 V C1. Is it worth getting the C2?

    • Get the C3 or the C1.

      • Why?

        • The C3 is the premium. It's really the best of them. The C1 is entry level but C2 is very similar. Apparently the bagged C3 is one of the best vacuums on the market due to suction, longevity and nothing really compares to them. (I've just got the C3 recently after researching a lot due to their price).

          • @npiet1: Oh bummer. I got the C2. Thanks for the feedback.

            • @Bellpop: All good. The C2 is still a great vacuum though.

@npiet1: I dont know about 'best on market', my Mrs has a Wertheim, just over $1500 at the time, variable speed commercial grade motor, low noise levels, can handle a small amount of water etc, motorised carpet beater head and standard heads, Germastadt bags, and HEPA. The charcoal lined bags are meant to not only stop dust like HEPA but also other greeblies and some microorganisms etc.

I know back when she got it, the blurbs stated how their bags were more effective at dust retention than the Dysons, and Choice rated the particular model we have as worlds number 1. I still choked at the price. At 1500 I was thinking this thing better make you giggle when you vac, but it didnt.

            • @Tuba: It's the highest rated by canstar blue and $1000 cheaper.

      • … or wait for the C4 or C5?

        • +1

Don’t wait for the C4 unless you like explosive pricing.

  • Bought one for $149 -Bing Lee Balck Friday sale. After trying Godfrey's brand (Hoover), target brand, Electrolux and Aldi I can tell you that this vacuum is on another level. Comparatively not too noisy, super easy to move and does not loose suction. Have to buy bags though.

    • Thanks mate. Will do too

A few years ago i was at Harveys looking for a good vacuum, this random duo of ladies was like, we had a Miele for 15 years and its amazing, would buy another. I bought an S series Miele bagged vacuum and holy….i dont care if it needs bags, the amount of suction it has is sooo gude, sometimes at max you struggle to get it off the floor. I never liked bagless as i do think of longevity, also my sister's family has a bagless dyson and it is trash.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I ended up grabbing the C2 German made one.

    • I don't think all bagless have poor longevity. I bought an Airflow bagless from bigw the best part of 10 years ago and it has great suction, takes a lot of abuse in terms of use when filter is full (yes, suction is less in this state) and is still going strong. $89 from memory. If you can buy a vacuum for say, $150 in today's money, Dyson has to be TTP asking $700.

    • I got a Miele S7210 upright that I bought on a 50% off deal for $399 about 8 years ago. Still has the same powerful suction as the first day and its 6 liter bag takes ages to fill up. Will definitely be replaced by another Miele, if and when it dies, which would probably be in very distant future.

  • All motors used in the china-made models also come from their factory in Germany. Source: https://homevacuumzone.com/where-are-miele-vacuums-made/
