  • Gooloo is crap. The 2000A Peak Portable Car Jump Starter failed to jump start my VE commodore.

    • Did you use the boost function?

      • Mine is the GP2000, it has no boost button.

        • The Boost function is a small button on the black regulator that will actually force power through the system which can be useful if the car itself is not pulling enough power itself.

4000A? Pfft. Marketing is strong in this one.

Which is frustrating as it muddies the water with what to buy. I'm definitely in the market for one of these style of devices.

  • I've got the 1500A version of this and it works a treat. I've used it to start my car a few times no problem at all.

    • What size engine do you have?
(If it's not too personal a question).

  • I bought the smaller one from the previous deal, the Gooloo is so-so, I mean it does the job but it made it a bit difficult.

The auto power off after 26 seconds or so, makes it hard to jump start cars that have a very weak battery (completely drained) from my usage. I connected the clips, powered on the Gooloo and then jump start the car, which it would start but then the stupid Gooloo would turn off and then the car will along with it. It did this about 4 times before I got the technique right and it eventually worked!

    • Why would the gooloo shutting off kill the engine? Don't your cars have alternators?

      • The car had a drained battery - no dash lights on ignition and even the immoboliser wouldn't work. So not enough juice to get it to hold power I guess

        • You have to use it in boost mode for completely drained battery, i have used 1500A one on 1.8 litre petrol it started that one easily.
