I went to order a book from Amazon this morning after seeing it'd had a big price drop … and found that free international shipping for AU Prime members has ended. It's reverted to free on orders over $49. It was good while it lasted.
Edited title because at least one user is reporting they're still seeing the free shipping. I've checked multiple saved products and am seeing only free on $49+ orders.
Can't go wrong with this approach.
I think that ended quite a few months ago as everything in recent months has had a charge.
I've used it multiple times in the past few months.
I used it the other day. It did end previously but was brought back and has been in place for at least a couple of months. Disappointed that it's ended again but hopefully it'll be back in a few months.
EDIT: I just checked, it still shows as valid for me.
That's weird - I just checked a bunch of products in my wishlist and all the ones from overseas now say free shipping only with $49+.
It seems not ALL international products have the free shipping. At least not for me and I have Prime.
Until this morning I was getting free shipping on all Prime-eligible products from overseas (I have Prime too).

He is right, I used it two days ago for a $2 order from the states, now it's back to you having to spend $49 for free delivery.. It was fun while it lasted — it was a great way to get food from the states on the cheap! I hope they bring it back again soon — it would have been nice if they published an end date.
It was a promo Amazon had that allowed all Prime items from Amazon US via Amazon AU to have free delivery. That promo ended 11:59pm 31 Dec 2019. Hence why all orders are now at minimum $49 to have free delivery.
I did have a cursory look - obviously too cursory - once last year for an end date and couldn't find one.
Does anyone know if international priority still $4.99? And when it expires? It was when i bought something a few days ago (in 2019) when I had Prime…
Buy from someone else… there is a plethora of book sellers out there just do some heuristics
I actually don't buy books from Amazon that often - just happened to be the product I was looking at when I noticed. The free international shipping has been great for a bunch of things not easily available here, or more expensive here.
It's still a pretty good deal. You just need to do a bit more planning and combine together different things you want to buy into one shipment.
