Sharing my experience. A PSA for anyone else who also thought they were getting a good deal to double check what they actually got.
During the recent sale at bose.com.au. the sound link mini became purchaseable for less and less.
I jumped on at the seemingly legitimate time where a single coupon code would take the price down to 143.96
I used paypal too, for you know, the added security its supposed to provide.
After purchase i got an email from both bose and paypal quoting 143.96. (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503972 i didnt go for the added free giftbox)
All good? Not. With the package and a few days late from a German bose email I got an invoice for 159.90 instead.
Somehow days later bose was able to overide what I had paid and agreed to through paypal and increased the charge. Paypal completely dismissed my dispute and ignored further complaints.
Bose was even worse they wanted me to provide my personal bank details because of 'trouble' they had with paypal. I would not trust them at all!
So went through credit card, which is the St. George Black, and they decided it was also dodgey and cancelled the transaction and refunded under their insurance terms.
Happy outcome for me. But I'll never think of paypal as secure for general purchases again.
