Paints for Plastic Models - Suggestions

This year I've been building a few plastic models. Mostly Gunpla, Zoids and Furai Transformers. I've just been snap building, and want to get into painting the kits. However mostly when I'm looking the paints are only purchase-able individually. Haven't been able to find a "starter pack" or similar. I've been looking at the likes of Tamiya, Gaia and Vallejo acrylics.

Does anyone have any tips / ideas?

I'm surprised that even if the paints are only sold individually, that retailers don't bundle them in themes and as packs

I have Brushes and an airbrush kit (thanks Aldi). But haven't invested in Primer, finish, or any paints

Tamiya and especially Gunze Sangyo Mr Hobby range have always been my favourites but I did pick up some Vallejo this year for some minis which I'm yet to use.

Starter sets outside of miniatures aren't common as most kits require very specific colours if you're going to paint them in the presented theme so 90% of a starter kit would be of little use to most people.

Vallejo is always good. Go and check out the Miniac youtube channel, it's great and not dry at all. I'm non-conformist so I don't think sticking to the 'guidelines' is any fun, get or make yourself a wet palette too if you don't have one.
