Saw this online today. Picked one up for my kid's birthday.
Says bonus $100 gift card online, but the store knew nothing of it.
$229 for this, if you're buying something else, seems like a good deal.

Hmm the bigw had a similar model with more storage, better more functional than a tablet
Look at those huge ugly bezels.. I bought the Asus Chromebook Flip 14" C434 for $759 with $300 gift card a few weeks ago from HN, Brilliant machine for the money well worth getting if they put that deal on again.

Space to stick your post-it notes!
Some of Dell business machines still use those thick bazels, figure that
People forget that the thicker/any bezels give the screen and lid some strength and the ones with tiny bezels not so ridged. Also for 2 in 1's it gives your fingers some room to hold/grab it.

Returned mine. Small bezel actually made tablet mode harder to use. It was too heavy and way overpriced for a chromebook.
This is better deal for what a CHROME OS machine gives you.
Each to there own I guess. For me it's a steal at that price point…
I believe Big W had a similar deal on the 100e gen 2 model a couple of days ago for $325 with a $100 Wish (woolies/big w) gift card.
Both different current models with same cpu's , 4gb ram and both have 2 X USB C ports.
This one is 12" and the 100e is 11.6" with rugerdised build and spill proof keyboard.
Thanks for clarifying. I didn't appreciate there was more than one model with the name "100e" and oddly enough could only see reference to the 100e Gen 2 11.6" model on the Lenovo AU website.
It seems like it's an N4000 which at least benchmarks quite a bit slower than some of the N3xxx chips. I'd look for an N4100 which is faster.
Yes, you are correct that the Celeron N4100 benchmarks a lot faster than the N4000 ( only dual core ), and slower than most of the N3xxx chips that have a QC, but better than most N3xxx DC.
I have an Acer Swift 1 with the N4100 which performs ok with W10, but the N4000 in this Chromebook from Lenovo with 4gb ram and running Chrome should perform well and maybe similar/faster than a N4100/4gb ram running windows.
I have the similar model Lenovo Chromebook s330 which has an MT8173C as well as a 4yr old HP Chromebook 14 running a Celeron 2955U DC and 4gb ram and they both are fast and similar in use to my fairly current Swift 1 doing basic task such as email and web browsing etc.
As many people looking to use a Chromebook are more looking at genuine long 6-10hrs battery life as well as light weight and Charging Via USB C PD for a low cost compared to really fast performance.
is this a touch screen?
can it run all Android playstore apps?
No. The 340C has which was the deal from Big W but sold out now. Can still get that from Officeworks for $397 and you
still might find one of the recently superseded 330C for clearance which is almost same but white, MTK cpu ( works well in these )
and only one usb C ( but can use for charging the Chromebook itself which is great ).
Officeworks had the 64gb version and JB HiFi had the 32gb one both in white.
ITs not touchscreen but can run android apps
Good if you just want a cheap Chromebook @ $229.00.
The N4000 is fine for that price too.
The deal is on again
Link is to a Lenovo 100e Chromebook Gen 2, so different model.
