I've been looking at this for a while and was waiting for the Boxing Day sales. It's currently $399 at Myer, TGG and Bing Lee, and $499 at JB. I've bought it C&C and am about to pick it up.

  In the kitchen, this would be useful only for processing baking material, ie. mixing batter, kneeding dough, beating egg whites, right?

  Trying to think of any other applications. In the kitchen (to avoid comments about mixing concrete).
