I made a mistake by hitting a car in station parking. Left a note but have not got any contact yet. Went to dandenong police station to file a report on the second day. I forgot to take the photo of the registration plate so cannot remember what is the Reg number. If some ozbargainer got similar accident happened please contact dandenong police station. They will give you my details if you are verified as the victim. I have comprehensive insurance but requires victim’s reg number and driver license to claim.
Hit a Car in Station Parking. Try to Find The Victim
Comments
Is there any value in publishing a Notice in print media?
(Or - if some1 here knows - a free web equivalent?)Your Filing a report with Police may suffice…
It's unlikely that victim is an OzB user.
You'vs not given enough info, IMO.
Which station park?
Time
Date
Type of Car
Color, unique features, etc.
Approx year
[Location in park]Given the whether @ the time,
could your note have blown away?Could victim car have been
a stolen & dumped vehicle?(Owner may not know where
it is, until Police get report)
I have comprehensive insurance.
Holy crap.
Was the damage a lot? The owner might not be worried about it.
That's mighty nice of you to do that, OP. Not many people would own up to their mistakes like that, as this forum and the many posts about drive offs shows. Hope some good karma comes your way. Truly the Christmas spirt :D
Also…
ITT: 400 people with accident damage who parked at that train station…
You’ve left a note and reported to police. You did the right thing, the ball is in their court.
How bad was the damage? They might be getting through Christmas first before dealing with it if the damage is minor.
You did your part. You're not obliged to play detective.
Good on you, have a Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah.
Perhaps visit the same car park on a week day or even better around the same time/day of the week and it is quite likely the same car would be there considering it was parked at a train station car park when you had the accident. Leave a note under the wiper with your contact details for them to ring you.
