Hey all,
Doing this for the first time and have set my region but has anyone successfully bought using their credit card instead of having to go down the whole gift card route. It's a time waster I would like to avoid.

That's what I am wondering. I have noticed that there are often better discounts and sales on the usa eshop but for all the stuffing around you need to do I am not sure it's worth it.
Right now I want Ni no kuni which is in sale on us but not on Aus. ,
Easy when you have US issued card :) Lived there for 17 years.
I couldn’t get it to work with any of mine. I had to try a few stores online until I could get a gift card without an exorbitant mark up and a site which let me order (something I don’t take for granted now). So frustrating.
In hindsight if I could do it all again I’d just buy eShop credit on sale and wait for sales rather than deal with the uncertainty around using a US account and trying to get a gift card. Probably wouldn’t cost much different either.
