Hi Guys,
First of all, please don't trash me like the guy that posted his review of LG C9!
I currently have Sony W650C 65 inch TV. Can't really complain (although the LAN slot does not work so rely on wifi) picture quality. We mainly watch netflix (obviously HD only not 4K) some ABC iview (for the little one), free to air and streaming ~480p feed for asian channels (via evpad).
Now that I have NBN (Aussie Broadband on top speed tier), the internet speed feels materially faster than my previous Telstea cable broadband, although I thought the Telstra service was supposed to be better (anyway a side point). It feels like I need to buy a 4K TV with boxing day bargain coming up so I've been reading about various options including LG C9, the Sony X8500 to X9500 range etc.
I still can't quite get a feel for which TV is best value for money! Is the upscaling technology good enough such that the FTA content and other streaming will be better than my current TV? Wouldn't want to buy a new TV only to be disappointed. I don't have a dark room for my TV so not sure about the C9. My budget is $1500-$3000, not necessarily interested in maxing out the budget but rather getting best value. Cheers!
Your thoughts would be much appreciated!
I got a ChiQ U75H9 75 inch android panel yesterday for just below the bottom of your budget ($1483). Took in a USB with some 4k media to test out a few screens we were looking at and it held up really well against most of the other screens we tested. Was quick to turn on/off and menus were responsive, it was pretty quick to load up and play media once the usb was plugged in.
Came with a 3 year warranty which I extended to 5 years by registering it online with Chiq.
This is the first time I actually took some media into a store to test out something before buying and it was worth the effort and at the end of the day I'm happy with what I got.
