Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (Grey, 4GB/64GB, 6.3", NFC, Snapdragon 665) $231.80 Delivered (HK) @ Toby Deals

200

A good price for a decent phone…

The specs in the link don't include band 28, but looking around other sites, this should have band 28. Maybe someone who has purchased this phone from Toby's in the past could possibly verify this?

While the grey colour is the cheapest, the other colours are good deals as well:

I bought this for my GF to replace a broken iPhone8. She loves it. Great screen, camera, amazing value for money. She doesn’t want to go back to an iPhone now.

      • So she thought the camera was comparable to the iPhone 8?

        • Better

    • Samsung will obviously have better display.

Not so "obvious" as putting my old Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 against the much newer more expensive Samsung A20 and for me comes out pretty even with some small pros and cons for both. Xiaomi put in decent panels in they'r Redmi Note series for your $ as do Samsung also.

For the cheap prices its okay, I was thinking of buying Xiaomi In the first place because they have better specs and cheaper. I'm still looking to buy a new phone, had my Samsung Galaxy J3 for 4-5 years. The Samsung phones are expensive in JB HI Fi for example the S7 Edge is 499$ Like why?

@[Deactivated]: I have used a lot of smartphones over the years, and after using the RN4 heavily for 1 1/2 years and the first phone I had this long without feeling the need to do a factory re-set, even after many O.S. updates etc.

On the short list for my next phone is a Redmi Note 8T Global Version with B28, unless I go for a $300-$400 LG V series.

Unfortunately other coupons aren't valid with this deal, but it's still the best price that I've found for this phone so far

Email for stock before ordering. Ordered for a Christmas gift, only just arrived after 4 weeks of no stock. Delivered by Toll so quite speedy.

    • This. Don't trust that it will be stock because the website says so.

    • I bought this phone on ebay 2 weeks ago only to be notified 2 days ago that supplier has no stock. Drove me mad because its too late to order somewhere else and receive before xmas. Also the listing read 41 available at time of purchase.

Anyone know if the Note 8 pro is worth getting or is this good enough?

    • +4

Not sure why you were downvoted… I'll give you an upvote to balance :/

8 pro is mediatek. This has snapdragon. 3rd party rom support is more for the 8/8t. So depends on use case. I went for the 8t.

Note 8 Pro has Band 28 (700 MHz) and this one doesn't

      • +4

mi.com note 8T global specs says its got band 28.

Very difficult to confirm actual specs of these phones. So many variants and so much room for spec listing errors.

        • This phone doesn't have 700MHZ and B28 so how come you mentioned this on my deal, but not his?

I sent Tobydealsau an enquiry in regard to B28, stock level and the charger. I got the answers on 16/12.

        B28, yes.

Stock, not yet. New stock will arrive in their warehouse in 5 working days. (So .. maybe around Christmas)

The charger is not for OZ power sockets. A travel adaptor will be included in the package.

        Hope this helps.

Btw, does Tobydealsau usually have boxing day sale?

        Thanks.

Bought 8T Global on ebay.. Has band 28 and nfc.

        • thanks mate.

  • Which of these type phones has a camera as good as an iPhone camera? Looking to get GF away from iOS, but she loves her photography and does a pretty good job with her iPhone (and its only a 6s).
So as good or better than a iPhone 6s, and Telstra network.

Redmi is a budget brand so you'll get the same in the cameras. You'll want Android flagships for good cameras.

  • From what I know and from asking other seller, this 8T does not come with band 28. Apparently, the EU version 8T is basically the note 8 with nfc. I could be wrong, but like I said, I've asked other other sellers and they said their 8T doesn't have band 28.

    • If it doesn't have B28 then who knows what they're really selling.

      https://www.mi.com/global/redmi-note-8-t/specs

      • That's the problem I'm having. This listing and some other listing of the 8T I've seen, it doesn't show band 28. In fact, the only different between this and the note 8 is the nfc. Review I've read about the 8T is that it should be slightly bigger, 161mm compare to note8 158mm (which this listing show). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the EU 8T is basically note8 with nfc where as the global 8T is the one with band 28 and is slightly bigger(161mm). What they're selling here, from their listing is the EU 8T with no band 28.

all 8T have band 28 and nfc.

      • But the seller that's selling it is telling me it doesn't.

        • Xiaomi vs the seller.

  • According to Xiaomi's site, this phone should also have infrared remote control (nice to play with others' tv) and something called "Auto Cleaning Speaker", whatever that means. Maybe it will spit out any dirt every now and then - hopefully not in your face…

    • I only exclusively buy phones with IR blasters. Fantastic for work when there aren't batteries for remote controls. Great for home when I can't find the remote… and this is for TV's, aircon, fans. Amazing for travelling when you can't understand the language or characters on remote controls. I cannot stress how much easier life is with an IR blaster. Samsung among others used to include them. Now it's just Xiaomi and Huawei.
