  These are not radiant heaters so I wouldn't say they'd actually do much more than heat the 5cm in front of them.

I bought on of these from Kmart - 2000w version without remote for $40 2 winters ago, didn't end up using it even once. Now just an extension to my clothes line to hang my jocks to dry.
