Holy moly a targeted one that actually affects me!

Edit: nvm, I have an incompatible model…

    • +3

gotta admit, you had me in the first half.

      have an upvote.

Time to buy a Hyundai now.

  • +1

We used to have a ‘96 Excel, can I still use this offer?

    • Yes

      • You sure about that? Last time I tried to signup, my Hyundai (2013 i30) was not compatible.

        • No

      • I already have myhyundai account. somehow the app, while showing that my car is in there, it is still asking me to add vehicle.

  • +2

Could not find the list of compatible cars

    • +1

Does Hyundai Auto Link work with all Hyundai vehicles?
Currently Hyundai Auto Link is only available for the new i30 and Kona, however it is in development for upcoming new model

      Sums it up

    • Most Hyundai vehicles MY19 and onward are compatible, most of the top ranges get Autolink premium whilst the base models get basic version of Autolink (Bluetooth). Some exclusions, list is halfway through the page (link below), Venue is not showing but I believe it gets the Bluetooth version

Can we put a generic code like the Toyota app?

  • This will stack nicely with the CBA $5 cash back Caltex (targeted) offer!

    • "Cannot be used in conjunction with any other fuel discount or loyalty offer"
You can give it a try though

      • +1

it is different. CBA offer is from CBA not from Caltex

    • CBA also have such offer? How do we check? I saw that offer on my Westpac Black before (when we logged in and go to rewards section).

Why does the app need to access my contacts, my photos, my location and ability to make phone call? Hmmmm

  • +1

App doesn't like my VIN number

    • Me too.
It wants 17 digits, my VIN has 11…
I'll be interested to see a solution if anyone finds one.

      • I called them. Only compatible with some models made from 2018 onwards.

      • use the generic vin solution I outlined below

  • No wonder why Hyundai drivers keep overtaking me on the road.

I almost sent this to a mate with a Hyundai but checked the FAQ and found

"Currently Hyundai Auto Link is only available for the new i30 and Kona, however it is in development for upcoming new model"

    So fairly limited eligibilty.

This should be added to the description I think.

    • No my iroad works fine and already got the code

    • my 2013 Santa Fe works too. got the QR code in the app. Assuming anyone can use the code or app to redeem coupon.

      • So do you guys have Auto Link in your cars?

    • My 2019 Santa Fe has auto link and this offer, that FAQ looks out of date

    • I don't have autolink installed in my car, but this offer is available to me.

  • If you own a Hyundai, can you also use this on another car (non-Hyundai)?

    • +1

      caltex won't check your car

    • +1

Yes, it is just a QR code you scan at payment. There’s no validation of model or fuel type (my Hyundai is diesel and i’ve purchased PULP for my other car with previous offers)

Too many permission. Deleted the app immediately.

  • Having used it for 6mths or so I can assure folks it's a pretty sketchy, unstable app - I think it really depends on if you have a very main stream phone - if you don't (like me) it can be pretty so-so to use.

  • +2

Pity Caltex is almost 20c more expensive in my area than the 7Eleven fuel lock options. But could be useful if I don't have access to Nox. Or if I stumble across a cheap Caltex.

Seems like there's one out near Casula (Sydney) with E10 at 119.9, which would come down to 107.9, which is pretty good. But I've got a full tank already and even if I didn't, I couldn't be arsed driving all the way out there to save $10.

m,f . KIA user here, was thinking an i30

  • combine this with 5% discount Caltex gift card

  • I get the notification about this on my App, but not able to use it, as I have and EV ;-(

  • Anyone know if the QR code is unique? Would you mind posting a screenshot of the relevant part of the app?

  • +3

If anyone wants to register and get the discount but doesn't own a Hyundai there is a way around this.

Use the vin of one of the salvage vehicles on www.pickles.com.au when registering (the vehicles will probably just be crushed anyway)

For example I used this one: https://www.pickles.com.au/damaged-salvage/item/-/details/CP…

    Plate:BOO95Z

    VIN: KMHH351ELJU077443

      • The cars are salvage. The previous owners don't care

        • -1

How about if the vehicle was involved in a major crime.

You think a few bucks Is worth having the police knock on your door and drive you down to the station for a 4hr interrogation.
And then be charged and fined for fraud for claiming ownership of a car.

          • +1

@easternculture: It wouldn't though because they would look for ownership records through the state registration authority, not some pokey Hyundai app. They wouldn't even have heard of it.

            Your assertion is frankly ridiculous

            • -1

              @newreg1:

not some pokey Hyundai app. They wouldn't even have heard of it.

By registering the VIN, the Hyundai records get updates.

I would imagine these records are shared with the RTA.

You claiming ownership of a vehicle is fraud and by declaring you own it while registering via App, you are committing fraud and could be fined by the federal court

              • +1

@easternculture: Nothing is shared with the motor registry as Hyundai is not a government organisation.

                Your imagination is playing games.

Fraud would be making a legal declaration to a government organisation which this is not.

Where do these people come from..!?

                • -1

                  @newreg1:

Fraud would be making a legal declaration to a government organisation which this is not.

Fraud is making a false declaration to any organisation (private, public or charity) and is punishable by law with a fine, imprisonment or both and is a federal offense

                  • @easternculture: I'd like you to demonstrate. Sign up for the Mcdonalds app and use the name Ronald Mcdonald.

All of Ozbargain will be cheering you on in court.

  • Go to https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/buy-sell-or-tra…

Go to CarSales and find a hyundai located in Victoria with the plates visible

    Put into vicroads website

    Get VIN Number.
