Was hunting for an Anova Sous Vide for a mate for christmas and came across this deal on Kogan.

Pretty reasonable price for the Nano, they also have 20% off a handful of other Anova products

However if you're after the more powerful Anova Precision, it is cheaper on Amazon at $179 delivered
As eug pointed out this is actually the old model. It's even cheaper directly from Anova at $159

  Do note that the $179 one on Amazon is the older model. This is the newer model. It's $191 on Kogan after the discount.

    Buy the bigger version because it has wifi. This means that you can monitor or start the unit when you're not at home.

    For instance if you've a busy work schedule setup the water bath with a frozen meal that's vacuum sealed before you goto work. Start the Anova from work and by time you're home the meal is ready to be seared for dinner.

  Does anyone know the differences between 2nd gen Anova precision and the new one, I can only see the size is smaller but that's all

    From the comments here and on reddit, the biggest reason people recommend the 3rd gen one is for the better wifi. Apparently the wifi chipset used in the 2nd gen one has compatibility problems with a number of routers.

      if the 2nd gen unit works with your existing router then no difference. If it doesn't work return it for a refund.

      Nothing too complex with these devices, they all will heat a body of water to a specified temperature and also have a propeller to circulate water for even temperature distribution.

      The Anova is nice because its app links to many user uploaded and reviewed recipes. And this comes with all anova units of all generations.
