Just saw this on Amazon as was going to buy different scales to weigh out our dog food and this cuts out the middle man! Very good price compared to what else is about, there are other colours available and price floats around a little bit with the colour.

    I have the plastic version. Didn't like it was called "smart", it's just a bowl with a scale, nothing "smart" about it.

    I never used the scales as my dog is not a picky eater, however in the last week we've had to be weighing out food due to medical reasons, so it has come in handy (finally)!

    EDIT: It does have a companion app, but it doesn't link to the bowl so anyone can download it really.

      smart would be if there was a hopper above it that dispensed food once a day and let you track in an app on your phone how much food it's been dispsensing, and let you change how much it dispenses at once. Even smatter would be if there was a platform that weighs the cat as he eats, and automatically adjusts the amount of food based on whether he's a chonker or not.

      Most food has a recommended amount to give your dog based on their weight. As mentioned in my previous comment, I never bothered until I had to medically. However, I'm sure other owner need to monitor intake for overweight dogs too.

        And under weight! Ours will eat sporadically so this will make it much easier to keep track of how much she's actually consumed.

      Yeah I don't get it either. Guess if you have no vision and a porker of a dog you might get this thinking its a substitute for taking it out for exercise?

    Petbarn was giving these away with large dog food purchase a while back… the scale built into mine broke in 2 months. Now its just an oversized dog food bowl
