Bugger. Just bought it at EB for $10 on Saturday. I should have waited! haha

    • +4

Better to return and re-purchase it for that $1 saving!

    • Wasn't it the definitive version the other day though?

      • nope, definitive edition was not going for $10.

  • +5

Come on Amazon match it. I need prime delivery.

I bought for $10 on Saturday

    • I forgot to upvote the bargain. This post reminded me to do so.

      • Thanks for nothing ay

Each game has gotten progressively worse, so 9 bucks seems like a decent price to give Lara yet another chance. Maybe. :P Thanks for posting.

Gamers interests get progreasively worse with time. As people get older they become harder to please but don't recognise that because of the nostalgia of older games seam comparatively brilliant when they remember palying them. This affect is the reason old people often think young people lack taste when really it is often the narrowing of the aging mind that causes that.

I thought this game was great but definetley had some issues.
The cinematography was epic, they fully fleshed out natural environments, the diversity of scenary was nice. There was a lot of heart to the story and some of the scenes like when lara is fighting through the burning oil field felt pretty epic and had enough realism and weight to be compelling enough to really want to beat the bad guys and progress.
The major downside I found to the game is the pointless complexity to it. The skill tree and weapons upgrade system felt redundant, the combat was just too easy for these to make any difference to the gameplay, because there is too many ways to easily kill people the variety felt boring as the options provided little difference in outcome to the success of gameplay style so the unlocks really felt like administration work to get a good percentage of completion rather than game playing. The unlocks served one other purpose for me and that was getting rid of annoying parts of the game like quicktime events that are too easy and end up breaking the immersion and feel laborous. The bad guys could be killed in far too many ways to make combat that enjoyable. I spent a long time being stealthy thinking this was needed alot of the time only later to discover I could overpower groups of enemy by shooting and ducking.

      • I just mean the previous two had absolutely dreadful writing and from what I heard, this third entry didn't get any better.

I still enjoy the TR gameplay, just don't wanna spend much on it for how otherwise meh it is now.

loved this game. highly recommended if you are into Uncharted series

I'd love the PC price to be this low!

Awesome game, my favourite of the series. More focus on exploration over combat than the previous game, but the stealth combat it does have is very satisfying. The jungle and cave environments were the best I've seen.

  • Played the original and rise of the tomb raider.

Is this similar or better? Are the puzzles challenging and fun?

    • -1

Its similar but not very good

      • +1

        Agreed.

    • +1

Less action, more exploration, environments & puzzles.
      I loved it

    • +2

The puzzles are very good, quite enjoyable to figure out. The characters, environments and visuals are pretty great too.

It's unfortunate that the combat was minimal, but also (in my opinion) quite poor, felt very janky. The stealth was underutilised, which was my main gripe - I was hoping for something far more fluid and approachable.

Damn too slow - XB1 doesnt appear to have any stock

    • The pre-owned is priced identically at $9.

It is also of note that this title - Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and the full Survivor Series of Lara Croft - are included as part of Xbox Game Pass.

If you are after the full Shadow experience, the Definitive Edition upgrade (DLC) is on sale at $15 AUD on the Xbox Games Store.

This deal is still great whichever platform you play on, however it would be more beneficial for PS4 players.

  • I have the first 2 on the PC from steam

Will wait for it to come on special

    other wise a fantastic deal

    • Far out lol. EBroden Games

    • That’s $180!
Though he probably has more success with getting 180 copies through eBay than EB

    • Isn't it 160? lol

      • yes lol couldn't edit it or 'bough' instead of bought ;)

  • So the definitive edition isnt available here in Aus?

    • On the PlayStation store digitally it appears to be.

Be wary of EB Games. Bought Click & Collect on the Saturday, picked up today. Was not Brand New Sealed (shrink wrapped), even Days Gone was not Brand New Sealed. Returned both games and purchased from JB Hi-Fi. Both Brand New Sealed copies.

    • They couldn’t offer replacements?

    • I picked mine up today, was sealed.

      • I picked C&C copies of this and Days Gone yesterday and they were both sealed too. I read that they can seal them in the back of the shop though, but I see no indication that they're not new…

And another thing is that when I picked up the order, EB price-matched and gave me a refund when I asked, so that was good. I'd ordered on Saturday and since then EB had dropped this from $10 to $9 and JB was also selling Days Gone for $4 less, so they handed me $5 back.

    • +1

Yeah this is SOP for EB. They've decided "new" can mean any of:

      • Brand new and sealed
      • New but not sealed
      • Ex display copy
      • Used
    • yep they're never sealed at eb

  • Thank you. Price matched at JB and picked up a SEaled Copy!

    Thanks OP

  • Seem to be back in stock for delivery on XB1

Great price, picked it up and I've been enjoying it
