  • Why is it showing up as $683.10 for me?

    • +1

Need to add echo dot to cart

    • Also you need to proceed with checkout to see the extra discount with the dot added.

      • Can't see Amex being charged yet. I have a $20 cashback offer from Amex that expires today :(

        • Amazon don’t usually charge until shipped.

          • @davestan: Yeah the authorisation was done at 1am so I thought I missed the boat by an hour but looks like AMEX backend is either based off US/UTC date or has a leeway built in and sent me a mail. Hopefully Amazon convert the authorisation n not charge another on shipping.

  • Would officeworks pricebeat this?

    • Nope

      • Thanks, this looks more appealing now with 3 cameras vs the JB deal that omly had 2 cameras

        • why no ?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: You need to purchase an echo to get the discounted price. Can't imagine officeworks would match a bundled deal

  • Anyone got one and know what the footage quality is actually like?

    • +3

Footage is really clear. Bit of a delay in recording unless you set it to all motion detection.

  • Does this include any free cloud storage?

    • +2

Storage is at local micro sd card (16gb) provided. You can upgrade the Micro sd to 128gb i believe.

You can opt for cloud but have to pay.

      • Have to pay for opt out?

      • +2

So storage is attached to each camera or just the base? Can you view and back up to a USB drive from an app instead of having to remove the SD card?

        • staging is on the base unit and it use a micro sd card

      • How much does cloud cost? Is it possible to set up DIY cloud storage?

  • any deals on add on cam's?
looking to buy 2 add on which is like $598 for2…vs this setup of 3 for $582..

  • +1

Bought one set with 2x Echo Show 5 (coupon = ECHO129) for $675

    • coupon use will cancel out any cashback though

    • good pick

      • Sorry I bundled 2x Echo Show 5s as I needed 2 but 1 Echo Show should work with C S Cashback too..

  • Ffs, this is $1049 in Oz

  • Work with Apple Home?

If not what are the best for Apple HomeKit ?

    • The 2nd gen will work with apple homekit, so these set won’t work.

  • Does the Echo Dot somehow integrate with this camera system? Just wondering why it's bundled like this.

    • If you get the Echo show, you can say, Alexa show me my front door, and it will open the app and show you the live video feed on the screen

      • can u just open the app from Echo show to see the live video feed?

  • +1

    Wow… really tempting.
    Thanks OP

Is the night vision better than the arlo cameras in the other post?

  • +4

    This better than arlo?

  • thanks OP - ordered. was getting tired of charging the Arlo

  • How is it compared to Ring Floodlight Cam?

    • +1

very different, that is wired and includes foodlights. This is a cordless camera only with no light

  • Thanks OP.
Bought one. I can't delay any longer before I miss the 20% smart home product discount.

  • Was waiting for the 4 cam to go on sale, but bought this. Thanks !

    • Mate, How is it compared to Ring Floodlight Cam?

      • Sorry, I can’t say much as I was only after either arlo or eufy.

  • so bummed i bought the 3 cam set last week for $7XX

  • +1

Genuine question, why are people going for expensive cameras when you could just get a bunch of Wyze cams? What do these offer over a Wyze cam?

[edit] Just saw that the Eufycam has a built-in battery meant to last a whole year. Which is certainly a handy feature; is it worth that price premium though?

Guys I’ll Come round to your house and yank the sd card out so you don’t know I have robbed your house

    • I have bought one of those Google Tangle web wifi things and am going to put the box in the roof for this reason

      • What does that do?

      • what do you mean by this?

        • How does google web tangle wifi prevent a smart criminal from pulling the sd card from the camera

          • @thelastnoob: guess you gotta climb into the roof first to find it :P

Will shopback or cashrewards will up the cashback for Amazon Au?

    • yes.

  • Is GST included? I've yet to purchase something from Amazon AU.

  • Got mine set up from Black friday, going great.

    Anyone got geofencing working?

    • I have them (Actually the 2C version) working with Alexa, but what do you want to do with geofencing?
Also in theory you can mix and match the newer cameras to the 2C base station I reckon, anyone tried this?

      • apparently the current app beta has geofencing.

So it automatically changes from home to away modes when people are home.

How are you doing this at the moment?

        • not doing geofencing at all atm.
I have to manually set it to away mode 3 hours after I leave the house, then set it back to home mode 5 minutes later so it doesn't advertise itself and get stolen.

          • @HunterBargainHunter: yeah, that's quite a hassle to keep setting on & off each time

geofencing would do this automatically by location of your device.

I'll have to look to see if IFTTT is integrated yet as advertised.

  • Does anyone know this differs to the Eufy E cam model sold overseas but not here yet ?

    https://www.eufylife.com/products/variant/eufycam-e-3cam-kit…

    • Found it quite confusing with the US models and AU ones

  • omg so tempted, but on the fence….$$$$$$…what to dooooo

After being broken into twice and also submitting footage to the cops, my HD Xiaomi cameras didn't do too well in helping anything.

The first burglar ripped my cameras down (luckily it has SD recording internally he didn't know about) and proceeded to smash my NBN box (obviously knew it was cloud/saving online). Second time, she didn't even care or know about the cameras and just ran past (too quickly to get a proper video of her face).

I was tossing up between the Arlo, Ring and Nest cameras and finally decided on the Nest IQ with facial recognition and hard wired. I chose the Nest due to the facial recognition and constant cloud upload as well as smart alerts. I turned off notifications after awhile with my old cameras because a bird or branch will trigger an alert. The Google is able to identify between cars and dogs and humans and also track humans and zoom in.

The nest IQ outdoors can't be bought in Australia and two cameras end up being 1k without a hub needed. Works with Google hubs as well and the nest hello doorvell

    • How are they smashing your camera's? Are U able to mount them higher up??

      • i had cameras indoor x2 and outdoor x1.. it was one connected to a powerpoint so easy to pull down. they smashed all 3

    • Don't think it helps if one can wear a mask or helmet. Unless your house has backup power otherwise it is not going to stop them from turning off the main powerboard switch.

      • +2

Guy who smashed my camera only saw the camera after he was caught on it. He then covered his face. I've also his the camera in a bird house now…

    • +3

Even if you got the clear video footage and passed it to police, they will not help you anyway.

    • +2

I have a Nest IQ Outdoor and they're alright. All these cloud cameras suffer from one issue. Horrible image quality when compared to say a wired Hikvision 4K camera (e.g. DS-2CD2085FWD-I) which cost $200 and comes with sdcard recording. PS, you can buy dome version instead which is burglar smash proof: DS-2CD2185FWD-I

The reason why I also use cloud cameras is because they have 'smarter' A.I software which can tell the difference between a fly and a real human walking around. Why is this important? Because you could be at work and receive an instant notification of an intruder at your property. You could then proceed to scare them away with the loudspeaker built into these camera (e.g. prevention). That's it's only real purpose.

If you want stunning video which the cops can actually use, you need something like a Hikvision 4K because the footage is nearly as good as the latest Go Pro Black camera (quality wise). The reason why I don't use Hikvision alone is their software and notifications are pretty bad (you get alerted if a fly flies past).

      Checkout the quality:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9VHA3k-Chw (Switch to 4K)
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JylwBtlfA1Y

Also these newer gen HikVision cams use H.265+ compression which no-one in the industry seems to support right now. It's basically equiv of upgrading from HD to SSD but for streaming quality. A typical video stream uses HEAPS of bandwidth, H.265+ makes it 7-8x smaller but retains image quality. What this ultimately means is you can stream for hours on a mobile phone in ultra-HD quality. Do the same on a Nest or Ring and all you see are blobs.

      • Yeh I was debating going down the hikvision route with DVR etc.

Thought about it and realised it will just give me a clearer picture of the burglar after the fact due to lack of smart AI and software.

Went Google IQ because of facial recognition and hopefully if you get someone lurking, you might be able to find out sooner…

  • Can i purchase an additional Eufycam? In other words add additional cameras

    • From looking at various pages.. yes..

As well as door sensors and stuff

    • You can add up to 16 cameras.

  • These Cameras are fantastic. I highly recommend them.

  • A few reviews say that the wifi range from the bae station to the cams is really short, ie over 10 metres away the cams don’t work well. What have people experienced here?

    • This is one of the reasons I went with a baseless set up as it takes advantage of my mesh network across the house..

  • +3

Was just browsing ozbargain before going to bed and ended up spending 580 bucks. Damn you ozbargain.

    • +1

I find it's better to spend it than wake up the next morning and feel sick about missing out

  • +1

price went down a bit. $3.28 cheaper now $579.20

  • amazon woke up. it's 759.00 without discount instead of 679

    • Looks like I missed it also, it's saying 759 (before discount)

    • Did you add an echo? Discount is applied at checkout

      • Yeah with the discount it goes down to 643.20… Looks like it has gone up

        • Ditto

I tried various cart options to see if I could get it down to the OP price but no joy.

Interestingly, Amazon's "Recommended for you based on Eufy Cam Wire Free HD Security 3-Camera…" decided to recommend boxes of tissues. I'm not quite sure what Amazon is suggesting there….

  • +1

A major problem with eufycam is the length of time it takes to trigger and start recording. In most cases, the person or car has already passed through the activity detection zone before eufycam starts recording. If you are lucky you get a few seconds of the person or car leaving the activity detection zone. Also, it takes an inordinate amount of time for videos to download from the home base to the smartphone app. If you just want to have a live view from the app then I guess eufycam is OK.
I wish dashcam manufacturer Viofo made wire free security cameras :)

  • does this have a live stream via cloud so if someone walks onto my verandah for instance, it will notify me on my phone and I can view it and use the speaker / audio to question them??

    • +1

yes you can view live when you're out

it will notify you when it detects something and you can talk through the speaker

  • has anyone got these working with their google nest hubs?
