Totally free - I'll give it a go.

  • +3

"Please note that this offer is only available to 5000 promo meals available per year distributed randomly at Easy Meals discrection. And is also not available with any other offer.

You will be contacted within the next 2-3 weeks to discuss your delivery if selected."

    • I was going to paste that as well… what's that about???

      • The last time they ran this offer they had people ordering multiple free samples to the same address.

    • So… basically it's a competition?

      • A lottery?

  • +2

I got one last time. It defiantly had lot's of meat, but the sauce was very thin and runny.

    • +1

My experience too. The meat was nice though, good quality. Kinda weird feeling eating non-refrigerated meat, but hey, I'm still alive.

Would be very good for camping/trekking.

  • Where are the ingredients listed on the website ???

    • I think the website has declined since last year. It has spelling errors that should have been picked up already (eg "comeplete") and broken links. The individual product pages should at least specify which meals are "low-carb", "low-fat" and/or "gluten-free" for people on special diets.

      • +1

        ..or for people with allergies…

  • +1

Bit of a repost, but you're the actual rep this time.
Got my meal last time even after there was quite a few clicks, so we know they're good for it :)

  • did not get a meal last time.

    • +15

      you must be hungry…. :O

      • +2

congratulations jv on your positive votes (times might be changing for you)

  • +2

Got the freebie last time, thanks.
I should say that the particular meal that I got was very so-so, but it was free.

    • they are yum if you like salt.

      • Actually, now I remember what they really tasted like. I can't remember which meal I chose, but it actually had a "dishwashing liquid" taste :(

  • +1

    I bought a $60 'package' from them…

I've seen dog food with more appeal!

    • -2

Maybe should be changed to 'free meal for your pets'

    • +2

Christ…I gave an honest opinion! Most of it is just water and salt! 'Not having to cook…microwave one of our meals and…'

Buy one and you'll know why I hate it!

      • +1

I guarantee these will be every bit as nasty as you say they will! And what gives with the clause 'we will send out meals at our discretion??' double crap. I would guess that its against the rules to post a freebie that may or may not come, and they have a clause to be able to contact you, and I am sure they will be trying to upsell whatever they can, and if they dont like your response you wont get your free pet food.. Is there a 'possibly freebie' section? Didn't think so. Spam IMO.

  • +2

I got mine. I kept it in the temperatures recommended. But with a few months to go, the bag ballooned. Doesn't that mean it expired early?

    • +21

Something is happening! your free meal has evolved and has learned balloon

    • +3

Doesn't that mean it expired early?

      i reckon yes
Gases are probably released from the food inside

      • +4

even worse, gases produced as a byproduct of metabolic processes - i.e. microbial growth

  • +3

I just recently threw out the free meal I picked up several months ago. I could not bring myself to eat it. It was a chile con carne and had the appeal of a chook pen floor.

    • Someone else that agrees with me :) I seriously wonder what was going through the owners head when he said to himself 'I think people will pay good money for these…'

  • "All you have to do is complete the form below and the meal of your choice will be sent out within the next few weeks if selected"
sounds like a lucky dip then hmm?

  • It is free. It has to be worth a look. The website looks legit. I will let you know how i find it when it arrives.

    • The website looks legit

Not when they don't list what is in the food… what are they trying to hide?

      • You just have to click on any meal on the right side of the screen for it to show the content of each dish.

Pretty shit food, can't really argue with the price though.

  • got a call today from them, they delivered to my old address while I moved out……

the lady on the phone said:
"oh!!! someone got lucky and got a VERY DELICIOUS FREE MEAL…"

    I replied:
    "……………………"

    the lady:
"we got some special price each for only….."

anyway, just placed an free order,
I'll see if they will honor my order this time! :P

  • +2

Got one of these last time. The food isn't too bad, but it's quite light on the seasoning. It had quite a bit of actual meat. Recommend trying it.

    • +1

Yeah was going to say this too, free is always good!

  • +4

I got one of these free meals last week in the mail, but the thing is I never signed up and I only just recently moved houses. I wonder how they got my info? Hmmm, odd. Anyway, I was very lucky to get my very delicious free meal.

  • +1

finally I can feed my family

  • I'd get it but I don't want to give them my phone number…

  • +1

Would have thought this company has been ozbargained. Guess not..

  • wow cool!

How did you hear about this?

    Ozbargain

  • A sales rep came in to work once and offered similar meals to us as quick late night hotel / motel guest meals. The rep left a variety of samples but sadly none of us were willing to try a single one of em. Be aware of the sodium content before basing your diet around these.

  • +1

    wow, nice catch!
    Love free!

  • Yep just ordered one too. Lets hope they dont call my mobile, because I gave them a fake no. Woops.

  • i cant find the ingredients listed anywhere or nurtitional value, horribly allergic to MSG or any of the flavour enhancer variants 621 to 635, cant be bothered scouring the site for this info…

    • +1

I thought it was pretty easy to find. Just look to the right of the page, there is a scrolling display of products, click on one, it will show you all the info about the product.

      e.g. (one at random)
      Vegetarian Tikka Masala
A vegetarian favourite this dish comprises of hearty winter vegetables, capsicum and onion finished in a mild curry sauce."mild spice"

Nutrition: Average Quantity Per Serving 350g
      Energy 1908 kj
      Energy 456 kcal
      Protein 5.9g
      Fat - Total 1.8g
      Fat - Saturated 1.1g
      Carbohydrates 49.3g
      Sugars 30.8g
      Sodium 700mg

Not sure if that is all the info you wanted.

For the record, I tried the Greek Lamb Casserole before and I thought it was quite nice. Gravy was a bit thin, but better quality than other prepared canned/packet meals I have tried.

  • +2

If I receive mine before this thread gets too old, I'll post a pic of the nutritional content + what the food looks like :)

  • +1

Worth a shot - you only live once, thanks!

      • not valid reason for neg

  • +1

Will they knock on your door and start telling about there great foods/deals for half an hour and then give you the free food?
    What if I'm not home?

  • +3

"You will be contacted within the next 2-3 weeks to discuss your delivery if selected."

Free meal PLUS free conversation - can't complain :)

I want a nice thick sauce (not watery), no dishwashing liquid flavour, no balloons and my dog to envy me … and I'll let all my fellow Ozbargainers know the outcome with gusto!

    • It seemed fine the first 6 months :)

these meals are absolutely shocking. its in a microwave pouch and tastes like c**p. i wouldnt even bother with this. its like eating 4 day old roadkill and im a vegan and got the vego one. can you imagine the other non-vego ones. can someone call the ambo's on 000

    • you're shocking

    • Fine, you didn't like it. Some do. No need to neg it on that basis. Some people eat stuff far worse than this. How would you know what roadkill tastes like anyway, you're a vegan aren't you? Hard to take your gastronomic review seriously with qualifications like that. Still Trolling I see.

  • They rang me today saying they were inundated with free sample offers and offered me an alternative: 50 meals for $150. I said yes since there was a money-back guarantee but now im a bit suss after reading this thread again. Will see how it goes…

    • You poor poor bastard…

By the fifth you'll probably get sick of them

  • They rang me this morning too. Said they should arrive in 4-6weeks and asked me if I wanted to take their 50meals offer while I wait.

  • My free meal arrived on Friday and it was greek casserole. It wasnt the best thing i have ever eaten but i have had far worse. I could eat it again. Similar to most microwave meals imo.
