Star Wars: The Force and Frozen 2 Coding Kits (Kids STEM Education) by Kano - $91.95 Delivered or Collect at Apple Australia

50

Looking at gifts for my 11yo nephew and spotted this on sale at the Apple website ($129-$139 on most AU sites).

UPDATE: Frozen 2 kit (more appealing for the the girls) also on sale at same price. It is likely that Frozen apps will work with Star Wars hardware, and vice versa (posted the question on Kano forums)

Star Wars: Kids learn coding and use the sensor to wave their hand and "use the force". As they level up their JavaScript code they get more powers. Games include 100+ star wars characters (baby yoda status unknown)

Reviews I read really positive and suggest it's perfect for age 7+ and absolute beginner coders.

Check this video for a clearer explanation.

This works with Mac, Windows, and iOS (no Android yet) with download links here:

Don't forget shopback and cashrewards both currently have 1.5%, and as it's Christmas every little helps.

Seems like a niche concept(?). Tempting but I'd probably use it once and shelve it.

    • Me too, but I'm not the target age group. Nephew is a smart kid, and loves star wars so this should be a great way to seed an interest in coding

  • I am looking around for some christmas gift for my elder one 13 yrs and my younger one 7yrs too can use this but still confused for this.

    • The video helps explain it better than I can. It's basically a motion sensor and educational games to learn software development with a star wars or frozen theme

  • They also have a "Frozen 2" version at the same price as well.

    • Well spotted thanks. I'll add it

  • Think this is cheaper if you go to USA store and they deliver to Australia. Currently in UK and only paid $58 fro UK Amazon. We get ripped off in Australia.

    • Yep, currently available from Amazon US for ~$60 AUD delivered to Australia.
