Best 4k UHD Blu-Ray Player/s to Buy

So I have recently purchased a fair few 4k films and a Q75R TV to watch them on, but I don't have a 4k player.

Can anyone recommend any 4k Ultra HD players worth buying?

Ultra fast micro sd cards keep falling in prices. Why clutter a home with obsolete junk?

What do microsd cards have to do with 4K UHD Bluray players?

Do you mean NAS or other forms of storage to house 4K UHD Rips?

Xbox one S (or the X) if you can get it on the cheap and you play games

    • Wait, so the one S supports 4k as well? Thought it was just the X!

I mean the added bonus of playing games is great, but I recently bought a switch and have a PS4 so I'm looking more up to $100 if there's anything decent! Thanks for the response though :)

Yep, the S can play 4K videos (but not games). Just don't accidentally get the XBox SAD (Xbox S All digital) version

          Sad is an appropriate acronym.

Well, the best is Oppo. They are top dollar however.

    • Just did a quick search and you weren't lying! They are really pricey, though would there be any noticeable differences or reason to go beyond something of a base model item? Thank for the response as well :)

    • I have an Oppo BDP93 and love it. It wasn't in my budget to buy an Oppo UHD, so I kept the BDP93 and bought a Panasonic UHD (DP-UB420GNK). It's entry level and priced accordingly ($249.00). It has HDR functionality and the images are fantastic. No issues whatsoever for me; I love it.

And read this before purchasing any new HDMI cables:

    • It is a shame that Oppo announced in early 2018 that they were no longer making new products, but will continue to support via firmware. For example, the latest firmware update for the 203 was February 2019. I had always been eying off the 203, but given its age and cost, couldn't justify the expense given it had already been discontinued when I switched to a DV player.

I've used a Panasonic UHD player (one of the very first 4K players, UB900, HDR10 only, no Dolby Vision at the time), and switched the LG UBK90 for Dolby Vision support. Panasonic now have a range of players that have Dolby Vision support too.

RE the LG and Panasonic players I've used, I can't fault either - both have performed flawlessly when needed. LG is slim and discrete (no screen), and a tad plasticy, but the Panasonic looks better, even though the flip down front is a tad odd, but does have a very polished look to it and a very solid build.

Because the writing is on the wall. Physical media is near dead. Their current crop of hardware is the bees knees and won't be dethroned.

I have a Roku Ultimate and it works great. Only issue is you need a vpn in order to register them now (probably due to Telstra tv making a deal with Roku). Oh, you want a Bluray player. Didn't realise people still used disc media. Way to lazy for that..

    • Oh, you want a Bluray player.

Yeah, it's not like it's in the title or anything…

      • Nice to see people on here only to rip others and not provide anything of value themselves. I would delete my comment so you can sleep tonight but it won't let me slow clap

  • Bought one of these https://www.harveynorman.com.au/panasonic-dp-ub150-4k-uhd-bl… a little while ago.
Only $195 at the moment. Happy with the picture quality, and it has high-res audio.
